| A new day was shining upon the town of Gloucester as the birds sang and the people thrived. The town was very small, with just under 500 people living there. The town thrived with its farming which took up a lot of the towns land, and its people were generally happy. They praised by having their town close to a mountain range, as it kept the wars away and the water plentiful. They also had a forest to the West with a lake within, but no one ever went there because it was cursed... This is what the children were told many generations ago, and so the generations live to tell the same tale.
Kilden would awake from a knock at his door, his foster father William standing there,"Morning boy, you got chores to do... I'll be out in the fields today so I'll need ya to watch the shop for me. Think you can do that?" He didn't wait for an answer as he walked downstairs. He ran an inn and all Kilden got was chores, one of his rooms, and more chores... | |

| Kilden sighed as he sat up. He scratched his head and then got out of bed quickly dressing in some pretty poor looking clothes, they weren't exactly rags, but they might as well have been in the same family, so Kilden thought anyways. He went downstairs and started working on his chores. | |

| His chores would involve sweeping, cleaning the dishes, serving guests beer, getting them food, sweeping out the front and anything else he could think of. Didn't matter anyway, since his father was never pleased...
The inn itself though could hardly be called an inn, since it was about the size of a small house and had hardly any tables. The only reason people still come is a steady supply of booze.
Today however was not very busy, and while he was cleaning only a single person came in for a quick drink, and then left. This made working in the inn very lonely... | |

"Bad business today... He's not gonna be happy..."
Kilden took this chance to sneak himself a bit of beer before continuing his chores.
"Why am I still doing this shit for him...?" Kilden asks himself as he was sweeping one of the bedrooms. | |

| There was a quick knock at the door as it opened to show 3 kids that he recognized. They were some of the kids that played around. Only one of them was older then Kilden, and that was Thomas.
"Hey there Kilden, working for your old man again?" Thomas sneered, the others chuckling a bit,"I bet he's out in the field drinking like the others adults say!" | |

| At the word of the forest Kilden put the broom on the wall and ran out slamming the door and locking it. He never backed down from a challenge or adventure. He especially wanted to try out that lake. | |

| As they reached the forest edge it was obvious that not many people traveled here, as there was no path, and a thick undergrowth. All of the kids backed away in fear of the stories, all except Thomas who just grinned and pulled out a shortsword and looked back at them,"I knew you guys would chicken out! Kilden and I will be back in a few." He then starts cutting through the undergrowth, walking through. | |

| The forest was incredibly dark, which was strange considering it was morning when you entered... There was a light mist on the ground that chilled your legs as you walked through the thick forest, Thomas seeming to know exactly where he's going as he stomped through,"So what do you think Kilden? Not so scary huh? Those adults are just hiding something I bet..." | |

| After another 5 minutes of walking, Thomas finally called out in excitement, ripping through some more trees before they came out to an opening. The opening was very small, roughly 10 feet across, but in the middle was a small pool of still water. In the middle was a rock pillar that only came up to waist height, with a fist sized blue orb shimmering on top.
Thomas was excited as he turned to Kilden and said,"See! I told you they were hiding something! And now it belongs to me!" | |
