"Everybody gets one free kill"
I developed this phrase awhile back to sum up a philosophy regarding what one can do with the one life we seem to have...
While at first glance, this may seem terrible, barbaric, stupid, and just downright insane, but look past these things and you may see the underlying message in my statement. In essence, this means that, if you live a good life, obey the rules for the most part, behave, and just overall conduct yourself in a mannerly way, you have the power, if used properly with the right intelligence, to kill 1 person without complication.
Now, let's say you don't conduct yourself in a mannerly way...let's say you're a delinquent who spends their life creating trouble for others...you will be looked upon with caution, people will watch you and be cautious when you are present. Therefore, you do not get one free kill, you are hindered.
You see, if you are a good person...if you do what society wants you to do, you are, in essence, invisible. This invisibility is powerful tool. Live your life as a good person, and people will be relaxed around you, people will ignore you when you aren't doing anything, and people will see you as just another person in a crowd, not someone to be concerned with, just a background character so to speak.
On the other hand, if you are a delinquent in nature, attention will be drawn to you, your body will be a beacon to everyone "look out for the troublemaker" and so on...you will have less opportunities in life because you have been marked with a neon spray paint.
Now, just because you're good doesn't mean you should kill someone...and just because you want to kill someone doesn't mean you should be good to hide it. Killing people is bad, and a terrible thing to do.
The underlying message to "Everybody gets one free kill" is this:
If you live your life as a good person, live your life as a calm, quiet individual...be nice, respectful...then you will have a power that cannot be equaled to any other power in the world. This power is almost supernatural in it's strength and magnitude.
It is a reward, for your good deeds, the reward of limitless potential.
The potential to stand outside of your shield for but a moment, to do something of intense magnitude.
The world's scrutinizing eyes are off of you while you have this shield, giving you the power to take advantage of this invisibility whenever you see fit.
...but the moment you draw the eyes' attention, you will never lose it again.
Everybody, gets one free kill.
