Trees Empty
PostSubject: Trees   Trees EmptyMon 21 Feb 2011 - 18:16

Alright, so here I am, sitting in my dream, driving down a road out in the outskirts of a city. It's not quite in the city, but not quite out of it...

I'm basically in a small forest, with trees on either side. There are a couple gas stations, a convenience store, and a clearing to the right. Within that clearing, is a circle of trees. The trees are normal sized, but with little to no branches. The are spaced apart about ten feet each, and there are about maybe 10-15 trees. There is an open spot in the front, where there is no tree, and there is a tree in the middle of all of them.

Doesn't sound bad, right?

It normally would have been kind of cool, had it not been for the fact that they all had what appeared to be a gaping mouth in the side of the trunk (no teeth), along with the slight features of a scowling face. Take that, and make it about 30 times more terrifying than I described it.

All of them are facing me, as I drive by. Now, they aren't moving, mind you, only facing the direction that I was coming from.

So I get an idea in my head as I drive past them, that I would execute later.

So I drive up to the convenience store that was on the corner just past the trees (only about 300 feet away).

I walk in, and lo and behold, it's actually a nursing home. Apparently I knew it was a nursing home, because apparently I was looking for a home to put someone in. I was about to choose this one, but then decided that it was too small to make someone stay in, despite it's cleanliness and polite workers. It was also secluded, so yeah....

I then exit the building and look over at the trees again.

Once more, they are all facing me. And the one from the center, is gone.

Time to execute the plan.

My hypothesis was correct; the trees were alive, they had ill intent towards me, and the one in the middle was probably going to jump me when I wasn't looking.

So, I get back in the car and begin to drive back down the road I came from. Now, this would be an appropriate time to say that I had a passenger in the seat beside me, a friend of mine, though I don't know who it actually was.

Just as I'm passing the ring of trees, I swerve to the left towards them and punch the gas. As I approach the ring at high speeds, I turn the wheel sharply and execute a barrel roll into the ring of trees, the car flinging itself in middair as it collides with the ground on the way down the slight incline of a hill. I finally come to a rest inside the ring of trees, and once again, they are all facing me. I punch the gas again and peel out, coming just outside the ring before I slam on the brakes.

An error occurs in my plan as my friend is sent flying out of the windshield and does a few barrel-rolls of his own as he slams into the side of the hill. I peel out again, and slow down about 50 feet later, letting my exhausted, sprinting friend jump into the backseat just as I peel out again and we take off at 80 MPH into the city.

As I'm speeding down the road, I notice that I have found the missing tree. It is chasing behind us as nearly the same speed, moving across the ground as if it weren't actually moving, meaning that it maintained the upright position, and it was, for lack of a better explanation, sliding across the ground towards us.

At this point, we're in the middle of the city, in a traffic-heavy area, still speeding along the road away from the tree.

I think I was starting to wake up at this point as my car transformed into a flying vehicle and we began flying just above the cars in our way......

But yeah, that was the dream. I was terrified in the dream, but looking back on it, it was effin' hilarious.

Now, you may be wondering why I barrel-rolled into the trees....

Yes, it was completely intentional, and I did it to harass them, basically. They stare at me menacingly, I fling my car into them.
