Story

This is just the prologue to a story that my sister and I came up with. I don't know how much of this I'll write, but it's worth a shot.

Prologue

Pushing my way through the large double doors I made my entrance. The few people spread out inside the courtroom stared at me because of my dramatic entrance but I paid them no mind. I walked briskly up the aisle, my heels clacking against the floor and my briefcase clutched tightly in my hand. Removing my sunglasses I surveyed the area: the jurors who were clustered together uncomfortably in the corner, the few men and women who had come to witness the trial, the old, gruff looking judge at the front to whom I gave a stiff nod, and-

“Good morning, beautiful.” I was interrupted from my thoughts by a greasy voice beside me. Smoothing out my skirt, I turned to the equally greasy owner of the voice.

“Good morning, Dante,” I replied coolly. I gave him a once-over, not surprised to see him wearing a rather expensive Armani suit with his thick black hair gelled back. What really caught my eye, however, was that sinister, arrogant grin on his clean-shaven face. We stared at each other a moment before I broke eye contact, unable to look at him any longer.
I turned to my right and saw two figures, my friends, chatting with each other at the opposite table. I swallowed hard, debating with myself whether or not I should talk to them. One of them, the man, looked over the woman’s shoulder and gave me his usual goofy grin. The woman turned and smiled at me, waving. I waved back weakly, suddenly feeling extremely sick, and faced forward. I snapped open my briefcase and pulled some papers out, glancing over them to prepare myself mentally.
To tell the truth I felt awful. Sitting beside me was probably the most vile man I had ever known and I had to defend him to prove his innocence (though we all knew he was guilty). My two and only friends were the victims in all this and I had to fight them, somehow finding enough evidence to prove them wrong and set this man free. This had been eating at me for days, and while I knew that I had to put on a brave face, I was screaming on the inside.
Although my life hasn’t always been like this, if you can believe it. It used to be easier, but I guess shit happens and you have to deal with what life gives you.

Sounds like a gewd concept.

It's a lawyer story. I have never read one online or in a published book so Helen and I thought it would be fun to create one. The first chapter is going to be good (assuming I write it).

And Helen, I want to show someone, I can't use that name. And it's not mafia sounding -____-

I see. Well, if you really want it to sound mafia-like it should be an Italian name or something.

Wait. I didn't mean mafia... But I was thinking that... It's just a second draft, I'll change that.

Yeah, Dylan doesn't have that big boss ring to it.

... I know, so I guess when I read it in my head I'll change the name :3

and Tyler, Dante isn't in the mafia, he's just kinda connected to bad things like the mafia usually is aha : P

EDIT, YES DANTE SOUNDS BETTERRRRR OMG

Dante does sound better, but Dante is the name of that guy in Devil May Cry and I have bad relations with that game. Petty disliking of third-party things aside, is still good.
