eh.... not compared to the others... I think they'd kill in an actual fight... but, yes... yes he is I guess, *shrugs* worst comes to worst I hit the reset button on his powers.

others in my group:
-Alicorn who is a merger of a pony based on dark magics and twilight sparkle (don't ask, I don't get it either) who is awesome at all spells.
-a unicorn who is based on combat magic in the manifestation of arcane energy into physical form (also can read minds via eye contact).
-alicorn with a busted horn (I think we fixed that) so now busted wing (he injures himself a lot), which is apparently 2 possessing the same body, they switch off sometimes, and from what I can tell never have to eat and fights multi-dimentional beings in his spare time.
-holms, the guy who does all the important stuff so we can live where we do.
-vinyl scratch, all around awesome DJ and player
-some music producer pegasus, manages vinyl
-New guy without a name but having several artifacts the only one of which has been figured out so far is that his necklace provides unlimited magical power so you never are drained of it.

...I think half of those would tear me apart in a fight... or at least severely damage me, so I don't fight them... the alicorn also heals us a lot.

And I see why your character is why he is now. A non Mary sue character would never stand a chance against them.

...also it takes me two days straight with no sleep locked in the basement where they won't notice while performing a ritual to drain the all the magic from a single pony, which has to be restrained so that they don't break free and ruin the whole damn thing!... but yeah, I don't just upgrade my power non-stop or anything... it's a process... and I only came up with the ritual thing cause one of them wanted to get rid of their magic for like a day one time and approached my character about it... so then I had him research it all, and then they changed their mind.... so I used it on some NPC that was giving me trouble and later some other guy whom I forget why... I'm also the guy of the group that hears about shit then goes out and kills somebody without telling anyone.

I don't want to hear your excuses. Not even the first OC I ever created was OP, and that was when I was 10. To be fair though, I did develop him gradually as I grew older.

...initially all I could do was manipulate and form darkness and see in the dark (pitch black, and manipulate darkness that couldn't interact with stuff)... I developed a lot with that free library of infinite spells and unlimited knowledge... and cursed books...

Yes, but there's a point where you have to fucking stop. Everything isn't like Gurren Lagann where it just keeps getting bigger, and bigger until the final climax where the robots are as large as fucking galaxies.

Manipulating 'Darkness' is a stupid power too.

Alright, you guys enough we've established that Colin's OC is slighty Mary sueish and needs to be for his Rp group and all.

Just remember in the future think about character decisions. Yes the rule of cool is there but it can be obtained through non mary sueish ways. What is cool to some might not be cool to others. And you can always trump a mary sue character with good writing/character flaws/and common sense of power level between player/RPers.
