The Limits of Devotion

Conani looked at Zentaku with the expression of somebody who had just been thunderstruck. Then she concentrated and entered his own mind.

"Get yourself together, you're a nuisance." Those were the thoughts she conveyed to Zentaku. Harshly, but yet she thought they were effective. After all, usually she always spoke as that.

Conani sees a mental picture of Zentaku's mind the four thrones lay in ruin they are each demolished none of the previous inhabitants are there but there is a man on the ground trying to put together a gigantic puzzle frantically having difficulty with inserting pieces even when he knows their place you realize each piece is a memory as you are bombarded by visions of his past. (all of them from Zentaku's point of view)
you see a Child you feel he is your best friend you are happy, you see him laying dieing you panic and try to save him by healing him... something goes wrong instead tendrils of death erupt from your hands as they choke the life out of your friend in front of your face you scream trying to stop it and save him, he says your name (Zentaku) one last time as he dies. you scream. you are a child you have just begun training and met your new friend James you are happy. James is dead in front of you you are screaming. you look into a mirror and see your face consumed in darkness as your eyes are black like death and cracks of darkness consume your face and you scream in horror at your own reflection. your friend lies dead and a dark flame appears in front of you offering to take away the pain you accept and it enters you (you see that giant beast that was inside Zentaku in the flame). you hear the voice that offered to help you trying to consume you, others offer to stop him you accept. you are suppressed. you are see a visitor in the mind talking to the others yourself long forgotten. you see the others fall and disappear you feel everything once more all the pain and sorrow. (this is just what happens in a few seconds it is very sparatic and disjointed memories)

Zentakus physical body is still screaming about this James fellow

inside Zentaku's mind one thing that flashes forth in his mind every now and then is a mental picture of Conani with a feeling of happiness and bliss...possibly love?

Nosro seemingly instinctively follows and puts his hand under his coat, walking slightly faster than the man to try to catch up.
"Conani, Smax, please deal with Zentaku." Nosro says, throwing out a scroll with a dark marking on it.
"That's a last resort. By that, I mean DON'T USE IT. If you have to, you'll know." He says, walking towards the man.

"YOU WILL NOT TAKE MY BODY FROM ME!"
"I thought you told him to shut up."
"Yeah! He's no fun unless he's in someone!"
I let him back in. Temporarily. Thought he might know how to deal with this.
"GET ME BACK IN!!!"
On second thought, he's not helping.

Conani bit her tongue and invaded Zentaku's thoughts with sheer violence. "GET YOURSELF TOGETHER!" That was followed but a quieter but colder speech. "Forget about him. He is dead. He is gone, there is nothing you can do."

She went back on earth with equal roughness. Conani realized her feet were about to fail on her, so she stabilized herself on Smax's shoulder. "Sorry," she shriveled.

Zentaku, "...Conani?" wakes up now... he stands and sees Conani, "are you okay?" walking over to help hold her up.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She sounded sincere enough. Conani was sure her power was not supposed to be so absorbing. As a safety precaution, she decided to stick with surface thoughts only, and gave a neutral expression.

Zentaku puts an arm around Conani's shoulder to help hold her up, "really? you look pretty worn out to me... sorry if I caused you trouble... and how did we get here?" (forgot most of what happened since the freak out...most...)

Smax: Well about fucking time you wake up Zentaku!

Zentaku, "Sorry smax but I am no longer the same person...those four are gone for good now... and I hope they never return." then turning his attention to Conani, "Are you sure you are okay... I really owe you for knocking some sense into me back there..." *blushing...*

Nosro still walked towards the man, now slightly catching up.

Odd

Nosro slowed down and met back up with the others.
"People here don't seem too fun." He said.

"It's okay, Zentaku," Conani said earnestly. Her cheeks were slightly flushed. She looked towards the disappearing traveller, who she'd been quite curious about, but not concerned enough to interact with. She didn't think he was very good news for them.

And suddenly, she felt like saying something completely out of character. "You know, I really miss my mom and dad." She blinked.

Nosro decided it wasn't a good thing to give a 'they're dead now move on speech' despite the assembly's majority vote to do so.

There goes my veto...

Zentaku hugs Conani comfortingly as he says gently to her, "I know...it is terrible, but we are still here... and I will protect you...I am sorry I didn't get to meet them. I am sure they would be very proud of you." he continues to just embrace Conani trying to comfort her.

"Uhh, it's okay, really." She held her palms out and squeezed away. That was rather unexpected. "Anyway, let's move on. It's not a boo-hoo thing; I just think it's a shame I didn't get to tell my mom how much I hated dressing up."

Zentaku lets go of Conani as it appears she wants him to and follows just behind her watching the surrounding but then stopping that and just looking at Conani every now and then.

*Smax follows the group*

Nosro begins walking in the general direction he was supposed to be going, looking for more people.

Zentaku says casually, "At this point I just hope we don't run into a fight after all this walking... are you holding up well Conani?"
