The Limits of Devotion

ven:"Which way is the town?"

"Let me out!!!"

"I know what to do." Nostro said, standing up and unfolding the scroll. It glowed brighter than most, and a phoenix appeared, seemingly angered.
Another prototype...

"Who can ride one of these?"

Conani stood in silence, taking disgust in how people could actually enjoy or complain what was happening. They were all unserious. She cursed under her breath and put her head down. She stayed as such for seconds, until a whole minute passed.

Then she opened her eyes.

She found herself atop a mountain with the four others. She was absolutely terrified, but there wasn't much she could do. So she refrained from speech, and just watched as the others, who she knew only by name, took the situation in their own hands.

Ven: "Hey girl, Co whatever got anything to add."

Smax: Well hello lady *eyes her*

Zentaku: come let us go I am just glad my friend now has company... *falters for a moment you may have heard a hint of sadness in his voice as he mentioned his "friend"* l-let us go now...

The Phoenix was angry. Angry.

"Do you want to go back to this scroll?"
"Nothanks."
"You don't talk much, do you?"
"Nope."

Nostro remained calm despite the fact that he for once had no clue what to do. No procedures for prototype spells.

Smax: What friend? *eyes him suspiciously*

Conani stretched the muscles of her mouth into a frown. Then she twitched slightly, trying to concentrate to what she was hearing. Then she looked straight at her companions, and looked almost as if she would let that pass.

Almost. "Let's come up with a plan," Conani began, already feeling the tremble in her voice. She hated it. It made her feel vulnerable. Conani was not vulnerable.

"I don't think he wants more disturbances." Nostro said, re-containing the bird.
"Well, let's go. As much as hills are awesome."

Conani nodded and walked towards Nostro, reminding herself that was the first ever act of actual agreement she had done in a while. It stung on her conscience.

Ven: "I agree with the nerd you guys are boring me to death and i mean that figuratively Zentaku."

Nostro looked for a town on the horizon.
"One day."

Smax: Anyways... *follows*

Zentaku: I have a plan I am going to a town and seeing what I can learn from the people of the outside about these lands. *turns and begins to walk away*

Smax: Grand... thats what you want to do in the middle of a storm! split up YOU IDIOT! *runs after him* have to fucking protect him...

Ven: "Aren't you guys going to ride."

Conani wanted to go home. This place was cold, wet, and she felt so vulnerable on the outside. No rooms to contain her, no boundaries, no people other than these, who she barely knew. She told herself to tough it out. She was scared. She followed the others monotonously, hoping she would soon find her way back into a room. She needed one, and a fire; a big one.

"Come back before you hurt yourself." Nostro said, turning.
"Ride? You want it back?" Nostro asked, re summoning the phoenix.
"Why don't you deal with it? You're a natural, right?"

Smax: Creepy... I LIKE IT!

Zentaku simply continues to walk down into the valley towards the graveyard

"You know... I don't know... but have you ever thought for a moment that somebody might burn himself trying to ride that--phoenix?" Conani asked.
