| So apparently it's common for people to have powers in their dreams sometimes. I rarely have such in my dreams, and they're usually crappy or hard to use. - Flying:
The most common dream power, so I've heard.
Whenever I personally have this ability, it's very hard to use, and always consists of having to tighten leg muscles in a specific way in order to give 'thrust'. Usually ends in me crashing to the ground after only rising a few feet. Other times, it's incredibly slow, usually I try to use it in the various 'chase' dreams I have, but it never seems to go fast enough. A few times, I've gotten it to be very fast however.
meh.
- Sliding/Skimming:
This one was fun, but significantly more rare than flying. The base concept was that I could/would move across the ground with my feet barely touching the ground. Usually I'd move fairly fast, always with decent accuracy. A few dreams it was very fast, and as I described it to my friend, it was like moving like a pat of butter in a hot, greased skillet.
- Position Lock:
This one is just weird, and pointless. I have it probably about as often as I do the flying ability, but never at the same time. Bascally, I stand in place, and concentrate. At that point, my body stays still, and I may lift my legs up, and remain in the exact same position in the air without falling or moving. In my dreams, I usually do this and pretend to run in place in an exaggerated manner, or show off to my friends that I have an ability. It's weird, and it's pointless.
- Teleportation:
Definitely one of the better powers I've had. Always consists of me willing myself to appear in another place, and sometimes in another universe/dream. Always works via blinking, I close my eyes, and when I open them I'm in the new place. When I first got the ability, I made a popping noise with my lips whenever I teleported, probably as a joke or just to screw around. Also, to be noted, I first got the ability in one of my chase dreams, and used it to get away.
- Time Frame Manipulation:
Fucking awesome but glitchy as hell ability. I've only had it a couple times in my dreams, but could always use it flawlessly. I say glitchy because whenever I used it, my dream would rewrite the timeframe I went to, to have a different state of existence. (for example, if I killed a man in my dream and then rewound time so I didn't kill him, he may be a woman instead). Great power, but as I said, glitchy. It should be noted that this ability didn't actually have anything to do with my RP character that shared the same ability, unlike the next power, below.
- Molecular Absorption:
Only had this one once, maybe twice. Quite obviously I had it because of the RP I played in where my character had that power (because the dream was of that RP). I was trying to get past a thick steel door and shoved my hands into it, it began sparking and disintegrating where my hands touched it. It was cool.
- Dream Manipulation:
I don't recall how many times I've had this, but it's never been very good. The only time I can remember using it was when I dreampt that some people were coming out of a house and I started counting the number of people coming out before they came out so as to change the outcome of how many actually exited. Ended up with about 14 people I think, when only two or three were supposed to have come out.
- Precognition:
I explained this before in a different post, but I did actually have a dream once that accurately predicted the future. It was probably about a 3 minute prediction of about 2-5 months into the future. I know there are skeptics that'll say that it was deja vu, and I would normally agree, except for the fact that I remembered the entire dream just before it came true, and so prepared for what would happen, which happened exactly as it did in the dream. Albeit entirely pointless and trivial.
- Psychokinesis:
Has to be one of my favorite abilities so far, mostly because I've been getting it a lot recently and have been getting better at it. It's just really fun to manipulate objects in your dream (and likely real life, if one could) without touching them. But I noticed that pushing and pulling is generally the better end of it, because trying to actually lift something and move it around tends to not work as well as you'd think, and usually causes it to spin wildly or flail around.
- Wall Walking:
I sometimes have the ability to walk up walls. Nothing flashy or special there.
- Deconstruction/Removal:
I think I've had a couple dreams where I could snap my fingers and have an object I was concentrating on disappear/no longer exist, but it's a little sketchy and hard to recall if I could or maybe just tried to.
- Other:
I once tried to force a lucid dream once I realized that I was dreaming, and so tried to fly and (for whatever reason) shoot energy out of my hands Ironman style. I don't know if it worked, actually, because most of the time when I try to force something in my dream, it transfers over to me imagining it as opposed to dreaming it. Allow me to elaborate. I sometimes have the ability to think or imagine things inside my dreams, but only when I realize I'm in a dream. Since the dream itself is an imaginated thing, you'd think that it'd just work in the dream. It doesn't. When you (I) imagine something in a dream, you partially see it, it just doesn't effect the dream whatsoever. Such as imagining someone on fire when you dream, you may see them on fire, but they will not react. Same thing with the Ironman energy beams, don't know if I actually shot them in the dream, or just imagined it.
That's that. Now tell me about your dream adventures and powers. lol

| The single power that I have in my rare dreams, in a majority of them is this:
Death:
I die. | |

| - water breathing:
I used to have this a lot when I was younger, I like to swim and have always enjoyed the weightless fell underwater. I'd usually be a bit worried at first, trying to hold my breathe, but as I inhaled, the water did not hurt or burn as it entered my lungs, it was cool and refreshing. It was calming and relaxing underwater, swimming around freely, faster than normal and very very serene.
- Flying and partial flight:
This has always felt wonderful. It's also taken several variations, often modified in some way. But always it feels best and fastest as I relax. Flying by own will: When I obtain full flight it is wonderful. The cool air rushing against my face and through my hair, nothing feels so good or free. Especially when the warm sun is shining down on you. Flying via wind: It might sound strange but this is more manipulating the environment to fly than myself actually flying, which feels... different. by making an updraft of wind I use that to press against my body and push me up, the rushing wind again feels really nice. I did this once in a way using my body like a kite and spreading out my arms and legs to increase my wind resistance and let myself get held up into the air, it is wonderful. wind with item mods: Similar to the updraft but not as strong to just lift me, so I use something else to help it push me up, like a blanket or similar sized hunk of cloth used like a parachute to push me up. or a glider.
- super jumping:
This happens quite a lot, I just jump really high and land perfectly fine, though the impacts are a tad rough they feel nice in a way, as do the falls and I know I keep saying this about everything but the air rushing against my body when I fall is really nice. I usually do this when running down a hill or stairs, I'll just jump down them and end up moving much further ahead than down so I will end up falling 40 feet or so, or sometimes I do actually jump upwards really high, though less often. Sometimes this occurs via item modification as well like with the parachute example when the wind isn't good enough for flight but good enough for high jumps, or even without the parachute items if the wind is just good enough to lift me up higher when I jump!
- rule manipulation:
Not sure if this one counts or not. I guess sometimes I distort the rules of a world to benefit me, like making an object invisible so I can hide behind it and not get shot at (did it with a tiny waste bin), or similar tweaks to the rules.
- limited telekinesis:
I say limited because it didn't always work.... it worked when it wanted to.
- Ki Blasts:
This was fun, I had basically a fight between two teams with ki blasts. We clearly wanted to kill each-other, don't know what about though, and we were all fairly normal besides for the ki blast thing, also we had a swat shield that negated them... it was really fun throwing energy from my hands.
- pencil of power?:
I can remember almost nothing of this dream besides it had a pencil that for some reason was a super-weapon and I can't remember what the hell it did...
- slow-motion:
This one tends to be automatic, it just happens when it does and it's really nice for dodging things or getting perfect aim on something. It happens when it needs to.
- super-strength:
What's to say? I hit things really really hard, and they go flying... it's pretty simple...
- forced dream change (panic?):
Sometimes if something goes wrong in a dream, very wrong i will force a new outcome I will repeat the events over and over till I get it right and manage to fix it... but everything get's fuzzier and fuzzier when I do this, and I have to try harder and harder to keep the dream together making a conscious effort to hold it all in place when I do this... it's probably done out of panic to fix a mistake, but perhaps this is wrong for me to do?
events:
- lucid?:
I had one dream that I think was lucid but I don't know because stupid dream person knocked me out of the sky twice. I realized it was a dream, jumped down from the balcony, walked out the two giant doors and kicked the ass of an entire parking-lot neo-style then flew into the sky and was knocked out of the sky without even being touched by a guy in a white tuxedo after breaking through the clouds.... and after regaining my ability to fly and charging up to punch him in the face I got knocked down again before I even got near him and was forced awake... He looked like someone I knew at the time, Spider.
- Jump boats:
I have only had these in one dream and I was in the middle of a battle with bow's between several other jump-boats during it, on a lake, or really big fountain I guess. these boats each had a small tower which was like a pyramid with a flat head,, about 1.5 stories high. The boats had amazing maneuverability and kept bouncing, they would go a good 30-4 feet in the air, at least with each jump which just made the battle amazing, having to aim at targets that were moving so much all the time... it was really fun.
- Hallway of spinning confusion and disorientation:
Walked down a white hallway, at the end it turned to the right and to the left, I think I turned to the right and I say I think because of what happened next. The room or I began to spin, the walls turned and everything was going loopy, I felt extremely dizzy and was like the ground was also moving. I couldn't see straight and was stumbling around for what might have been a minute before I managed to stumble into another room and be instantly cured of this feeling.
Other stuff: I have a few questions... I'll use some examples of what I've experienced. Am I the only one who feels the weather of the environment I'm in when dreaming? Like not room temperature but if it's something unique, like if it's warm out, or cold? Or the wind? The air your breathing? Do you ever encounter simple impossibilities that defy logic? Like a room with walls made out of large orbs yet the walls and ground, and ceiling are all smooth and flat? Have you ever spontaneously lost your powers or abilities in a dream, known you should be able to access them but just can't? Do you feel things in your dreams? Like the rush of wind on your face and through your hair, or the impact of your body upon the ground after falling 20 feet. or just the texture of a wall you move your hand over. have you ever felt a kiss in a dream before as if it were real? Have you ever thought you woke up from a dream when you hadn't?

| Colin's questions:
Am I the only one who feels the weather of the environment I'm in when dreaming? Like not room temperature but if it's something unique, like if it's warm out, or cold? Or the wind? The air your breathing?
I've felt things as well, but usually only if they are "scripted" in my dream, like if I get hit, shot, stabbed, etc. Otherwise, I only feel things when I suddenly realize I'm in a dream, then I feel things with great detail, suddenly followed by me waking up.
Do you ever encounter simple impossibilities that defy logic? Like a room with walls made out of large orbs yet the walls and ground, and ceiling are all smooth and flat?
Not rooms, but I've had things like my punches slowed to a stop so my target took no damage, guns firing but no bullets coming out, etc
Have you ever spontaneously lost your powers or abilities in a dream, known you should be able to access them but just can't?
Flying dreams usually. I start to go up, but then suddenly fall.
Do you feel things in your dreams? Like the rush of wind on your face and through your hair, or the impact of your body upon the ground after falling 20 feet. or just the texture of a wall you move your hand over.
See first answer, only if scripted or sudden lucid.
have you ever felt a kiss in a dream before as if it were real?
Yes
Have you ever thought you woke up from a dream when you hadn't?
I don't think so. I've had dreams where I really thought I was awake, but wasn't. Otherwise no, I don't think so.

| Colin's super jumping thing reminded me of a few dreams I've had. Sometimes I have a dream where I'm just jumping around like a fool, usually around stairs, and suddenly I'm launched into the air at least one hundred or more feet high. Presumably, I die, but I wake up right around the time I hit the ground. | |

| Psh, if you jump that high you can handle the impact, if not, convert the energy to your core and then convert that into forward motion to jump horizontally forward then tuck and roll... I can do it in theory, not in real life practice, but all I need is theory for dreams ^_^. | |

| I'm sure in real life a one hundred foot fall is lethal, even if you manage to spread the impact by landing on the balls of your feet then rolling. Then again, you can die from falling at any height. In a dream, it's also lethal in your dream if you have a subconscious doubt that you'll make the fall. That's usually the reason as to why super powers fail or don't work often in dreams. | |
