| July 7th 2015 the day that the world changed. On this day at exactly 4:25 and 17 seconds Eastern Standard Time strange marks appeared randomly upon a small fraction of the worlds population disregarding race religion age or anything at all these marks simply appeared upon these individuals, and with them came power that not even those who held them would understand at that time (well most of them). This moment would later be referred to as the moment of the Birth of Magic, Despite the many lives lost because of it. Most of these marks appear to be tattoos upon the person holding a power within them to control something. There would be consequences for this sudden shift in the world, this sudden change in power that would make everything different, forever.
Many passed by the infamous day without even noticing it, but the next day it was difficult to not hear of some of the horrific events that had occurred overnight. The governments would have to take some sort of action soon to ensure the safety of everyone, whatever they do, it must be done soon.
You begin on July 8th the day after the first appearance and may be whosoever you choose, though it is preferred you possess a sigil it is not required though you cannot gain one if you do not possess one. Sigils can be located anywhere on the body (usually) but most often appear on the epidermis somewhere, though there have been rare cases where it appears on a kidney or liver it is suggested and appreciated if no one takes advantage of that.

Sigils: (spoilers for a lot of detail, otherwise it's mostly what it sounds like.) unless stated otherwise sigils require time and practice to understand how to actually use them and their power, as it is not normal and you may not even know how to use it initially let alone well. Like a muscle that you have never used and never knew existed.
Fire (fire control);
- Spoiler:
a tattoo that appears to be a flame, it moves slightly if you look at it right and glows a bit. Touch; It rests at 140 degrees Fahrenheit and can easily be pushed up to over 300 degrees coming off the mark with a bit of an adrenaline rush. The possessor of this sigil will never feel the effects of extreme heat or any normal fire, they will also be able to learn to conjure and control fire themselves, and perhaps even what this means at it's core with enough time.
Plant/fungi (plantlife control);

these tattoos appear to either be a seed or a scattering of spores, which will grow into different plants or fungi depending on how one develops their understanding of this and how they focus their efforts if they ever do at all. Touch; these stimulate unnaturally fast and strong growth in any plant /fungi (depending on the mark), that it makes contact with directly which can be controlled at the will of the user though will occur in some manipulation regardless of the users desires. This mark allows the user to grow plants/fungi in unnatural ways at accelerated speeds if desired, in some cases communicating with the plants/fungi on some level, and this mutual understanding will only grow with extended effort. (technically this power could be used to also destroy fungi and plants.)
Chrono (time control);

This tattoo appears to be an hourglass. It's touch effect involves faint echoes of past and future ecents through the perspectives of the objects pushing into your mind, these may just be sounds or feelings or sometimes visions, but they just come to you. The users of this slowly figure out how to slow and speed their perception of time as well as that of others. Though they cannot travel through time alone and even then it is very limited there are far greater implications to this power than it seems. (In the distant future chronomancers are known for trading a far more valuable commodity than money, rather time itself, usually with the aid of others.)
Bio (Biokinetic);

This tattoo appears to be a human body, the possessors body. Touch; this sigil when touched to another the possessor gains a full understanding of that person's current physical condition and knows everything about their body, they can also manipulate the other's body like their own. Biomancers learn to alter their own bodies at will and understand the entirety of their own physical condition at all times. Though often changing how your body is built can be extremely painful while others experience no discomfort in altering their form, as such many possessors never indulge in the use of this power or even attempt to understand it while some take to using it on a regular basis or become masochistic.
Poison (manipulation of and creation of toxins);

This cursed tattoo appears slick purple and serpent-like; a drop like falling poison, though following it up where the falling tail would be it curves counterclockwise around this venomous bulge once, before curving clockwise back down almost making an 8 shape with the drop in the middle but stops short of connecting with a pointed tip. touch effect; it varies in strength and exact effect, but it is always extremely dangerous and poisonous often with no cure, only other poison users are immune to it's effects which may stun completely temporarily, permanently, or even kill within minutes or seconds as it varies from person to person. This ability makes the user completely immune to all poisons as well as allowing them to make other things poisonous of venomous, and also sometimes purify or cure these things. some may even turn air into a liquid poisonous substance at stronger levels manipulating them as deadly weapons.
Wind (air control);
- Spoiler:
This tattoo appears on the body as a few curving streamlines symbolizing the flow of air. Touch, this symbol always has a light breeze coming from it, though it can elevate in force it will also produce air in small degrees if there is an absence of it. This sigil allows one to control the air itself, including other gaseous substances as long as they are already some form of air. As with most things the obvious uses are only the surface of what it can truly do and what it is at it's core. If without air this mark will produce enough oxygen for the user to survive and naturally funnel it to them to ensure their survival, though it will become exhausted with too much time it can potentially last for days or months.
Water (control of water and most liquids);

This tattoo appears to be a wave in form. It's touch is cool as it constantly produces a small some of water which can be pushed to pour from it like a fountain or potentially a geyser. The possessor or this sigil can breathe underwater and move freely within the water, being able to move freely there as if it was where they belong. The user of this sigil can manipulate and control water in all it's forms and most things in liquid form with enough effort and understanding.
shadow (control over darkness (potentially cold and nightmares));

This tattoo goes unseen by most due to it's nature though often known by a Silhouette in form, those that can see it would notice it is an image of the person possessing it followed by a his own shadow which can be expended or compressed to just covering the mark under the influence of the users will. The sigil excretes a pure dark shadow that renders it unseeable and those that touch it find themselves temporarily blinded. The bearer of this mark can see perfectly in even pitch black without a speck of light as if it were the brightest of day. The users of this can manipulate the darkness and expand it's reach blocking out the light. Some become strong enough to make the darkness itself take on physical properties.
summoning (develops uniquely);

This tattoo becomes very different for different people, but it always is based off the same skeleton. Every summoning sigil appears to be a circle with a larger circle around that one. The interior circle will form a symbol for the method of summoning whether it be a call or teleportation or some use of portals, and the ring around the interior circle will form symbols for that which the summoner calls indicating that which the summoner can call upon and often inspires a degree of loyalty or camaraderie from these creatures if animals. Touching this sigil has no effect on others unlike most other sigils, but the sight of it by a creature within the ring inspires a degree of camaraderie like greeting a member of their own pack or one of their comrades, most often a leader. This sigil user can summon aid from other creatures often ones they have had contact with or know about, though only those that fit within their repertoire in some way and this list cannot be altered when formed.
Clairvoyance (Seeing that which you cannot see);

This tattoo appears to be a human eye. The possessor of this sigil can see clearly in any environment and always sees the truth, nothing can be hidden from this users eyes. As well, the possessor can see our of the sigil itself. The possessor of this sigil gains the ability to see events that occurring elsewhere, as well as potentially form visual models of these things or make others see what you want them to see.
Luck (you got a bit o' the luck of the irish, or are you a jinx?);
- Spoiler:
This tattoo appears as an icosahedron (20 sided shape). The touch of this sigil to an object or a person can influence it's luck tipping it in a favorable or unfavorable manner at the users will. The user of this sigil can possesses the ability to tip the scales of luck or fate in the favor of what they desire, though this can be difficult to observe it often subtlety and passively influences the users own life without them even noticing it and those that learn to control it can do things that they want without potentially little to no chance of failure.
Sound (audio-manipulate);

This tattoo appears to be a note, a musical note. This tattoo subtly vibrates causing a numbing sensation when touched by another and can be accelerated to a rate that can liquify some materials temporarily with greatly expended effort. The user of this sigil can mimic any sound they hear or think of. As well it can be used to make sounds elsewhere much like ventriloquism. Though only in understanding what this power actually controls at it's most basic level will one of it's users be able to use it at it's strongest.
Earth (rock/mud/earth manipulation);
- Spoiler:
this tattoo appears to be a pebble and grows with the power of the user potentially taking on the image of a mountain or mountains. Touch; this sigil can alter the make-up of earth that it touches into other forms of earth, this appears random until it is learned to be controlled, it may turn iron to rock or mud, or a pebble to a diamond or crystal even. The user of this sigil can move and manipulate earth, as well they find a lack of need to breathe when completely encased in earth. They also find themselves able to move earth manipulating it unnaturally with effort.
electricity (control electricity and lightning);

unlike most this does not appear as a tattoo, rather this sigil begins as sparks in one or both of the eyes of the users, as they grow more powerful these sparks will grow and penetrate out of the pupils and at it's strongest not only could the eyes glow but they would passively emit electricity that flows out of them. The user of this sees the flow of electricity and understands how it works and flows almost innately. The user can conduct and control the flow of electricity with their will, though like most things this can do more than just that, some may potentially manipulate electronic devices as well.
Balance;
- Spoiler:
This tattoo appears to be a Yin Yang sign. This sigil causes the mind of anyone who touches it to become calmed and clear or foggy and keeping steady thoughts become difficult if the possessor wishes it. The possessor of this sigil has both great physical balance and are very in tune with the balance of nature and all reality understanding when something is wrong with how the world is working. They can use this to also alter how things are balanced so to speak, potentially blocking the magic of others or pushing it out of their control accelerating it's effects and amplifying them among other things. This power has much to do with altering the balance of the world. It can also be potentially used to separate energies causing an imbalance and basically forming energy or chi blasts. Though users of balance find many different ways to use this power none are necessarily the right or wrong way to use it as it is a rather fickle power.
move;
- Spoiler:
This tattoo appears to be a line with an arrow pointing on both ends. touching this symbol would momentarily make one other than the user either become minority accelerated or slowed down for a short time (effected by the users will and preference). The user of this sigil can accelerate or decelerate their own motion as well as that of other objects and people. This can also be used to move things that do not normally move; an example could be using the power to propel pebbles like bullets by flicking them though that is not necessarily required or stop bullets in mid air.
Insanity (very potentially powerful but character altering);
- Spoiler:
This sigil is not visible to most eyes, it is a usually small area of moving text of unknown language upon the user's body that cannot be seen by those that only see the normal color spectrum (shadow users can see an outline of something moving, clairvoyants pre-cognitives, telekinetic, and other insanity users can see the text). The touch of this has no effect. Tho one who possesses this sigil gains unnatural insight into how reality itself works and hears voices whispering of truth driving them insane. Though this benefits them in the limited alteration of reality, even sane men begin to rant like madmen, though often knowing more than seems possible and their words often hold far more meaning than they seem it may also just be mad ravings. Users of this are driven to learn more as they realize how little they know, this hunger can be consuming. Their power has little limitations though it's level of power is dependent upon the surface area that it takes up on the possessor, it is almost unheard of to have an entire hand covered but something like a fingernail or a nose is much more common among these madmen and madwomen. (you may wake up to find some things from your dreams pulled into reality). Though this can potentially alter most of the state of reality to an extent it cannot interfere with other's magic.
Pre-cognition:
- Spoiler:
This tattoo appears to be two eyes overlapping each-other. the touch of this sigil to another causes them to temporarily see small flashes of the future, past, or temporary double vision. The possessor of this can access the past of their surroundings and also view potential futures to an extent. Potentially one of these users can view multiple outcomes of the next few seconds picking and choosing their actions to be almost perfect, as such they are usually rather difficult to hit in a fight that they are aware of unless they want to be hit.
Telekinesis (more too it):

This tattoo appears to be a brain with an eye inside it. The touch of this sigil allows the possessor to root through the mind of the one they are in contact with and share thoughts if desired. They can move objects telepathically as their most obvious function. As well they can potentially link minds of people together and peer into the minds of others viewing their perception or potentially altering their perception or thoughts at greater levels of power. One of it's most interesting properties is the ability to link the minds of multiple magic users and allow them to use eachothers' powers together, though it can be dangerous and risks increase with more casters, while simply mentally communicating with each-other is much safer.
