Always, Baby

So I think I write more poetry during school than anything else... I'm on a major senior slide, I'm amazed I even write lol

anyways.......yeah another poem (this one rhymes!)

Always, Baby

Day after day I hide behind a smile,
I try my best to seem like a girl
with the heart of a carefree child
behind my façade I hide from the world

"Why bother?" I hear you faintly ask.
You mean no harm by it, I understand.
I just stare back at you, through my mask.
But when you see the look in my eyes, you grasp my hand.

Suddenly your visage takes on a new dimension.
You examine my face anew.
Your thoughts have ceased, your mind in suspension,
I hear you murmur, "I never knew…"

I have nothing to say, so silent I remain.
I can tell you are worried, and unsure what to do.
Finally I whisper, "You must think I'm insane."
"Never, baby, never," you assure, "I love you."
