| Anybody know of any messed up animes?
I like drama and fucked up/gory shit.
In example, School Days was very dramatic and messed up. Stuff like that...
But feel free to give other suggestions

| Those aren't really gruesome animes; they're too cartoonish to have any real effect on one's emotions.
I take it you've seen Gantz; have you seen Golgo 13? Highschool of the Dead (shot out of the blue, really)? Also, and I insist on this particular one (if I remember correctly, this should be it), watch Shigurui. I've only watched a couple of episodes with my brother but it's cringe-worthy gore from start to finish and I believe it is what you're looking for.

| Soul eater was far from gruesome. Highschool of the Dead was too funny and ecchi, and Higurashi wasn't all that gory either. It didn't really show much of the gruesome stuff in it.
Although honestly there aren't many "gruesome" things in anime that bug me since it's anime, and I've seen worse than they can legally dish out without being considered hentai.
I'd suggest Ninja Scroll and Gantz if you want blood. Blade the anime was fun too. For fucked up shit I'd suggest the Furi Kuri manga, Kurozuka (Kind of bloody too, mostly a psychological anime however), and Cat Shit.... No not the anime, just rub your phallus in some cat shit.
Oh! Also the anime retakes of Icchi the Killer.

| if you want the 'and so the world ends with a whimper' type of world ending crisis-es and their detraction... The meloncholy of haruhi suzumiya... world almost ends so many times.
Also, I hear 11 eyes is pretty good.

| Eden of the East was lovely. I don't get why you disliked Bakemonogatari if you wanted a little more of the drama and fucked up side; I guess to each their own tastes. | |

| If drama means overblown, stereotyped characters doing aimless things for the pure sake of aggravating the situation, then I don't guess Bakemonogatari is dramatic. | |

| Shrug. I like juicy, character psyche-ripping apart drama. Emotional deconstruction. Edge or success of suicide of character. The killing off of a major character. You know what I'm saying ...while I loved Lelouch and didn't want him to die *SPOILER*, actually laughed and smiled during his death scene because it was a satisfactory dramatic turn. Yep, I laugh and smile at scenes that should make you frown and cry. Why? Because I do so love the drama. | |

| There was this anime about Deux Ex, it was a cool somewhat dramatic/psychological thing. I completely forgot what the name of it was though. It was about a bunch of people competing against each other to be the next Deus Ex, each of them owning a unique ability. | |
