The Limits of Devotion

"Easy I'm right handed." He smiles and switches his sword to the other hand his attacks get twice as fast and twice as powerful.

Nosro approached more.

"We need every bit of knowledge if we are to win. Fighting invisible enemies typically does not bring benefits."

"Unless we are the dominant power."

"I understand." Nosro said in a comforting way.
"But there's nothing to worry about with all the defenses you had."

"He doesn't seem to confident about 'her'." Nosro said.
"Sorry if I disturbed you."

Zentaku walks in now speaking without emotion, "Who is 'her'."

"Again, sorry about that." Nosro said, taking a seat and reading the red book.

Zentaku produces a cloth from in his shirt (medical bandages) and begins to wrap up his head all except for his eyes...

"A pinch..." Conani smiled briefly before relaxing her face muscles again. She was wondering if she should change the subject or continue her training. She chose to talk, something she rarely did without purpose. "I don't know what made me choose the mind domain or if it chose me--for no particular reason--but if I had chosen another domain I think it would've compensated for a lot of things."

She elaborated, "I was a very weak child, and while I try my hardest to rival with the physical prowess of the others the only think I manage is the bare minimum." She closed her eyes calmly. "My parents wanted me to get into the Nobility domain, but I showed absolutely no potential in that one." Conani sheepishly realized that was her whole life story.

She blinked and bashfully asked, "Could I know more about you?"

"You're good Julius so I'm going to stop insulting you and move to a style I'm good at." Ven changes to a kendo style moving faster.

Zentaku walks into the same room as flint and Conani his face covered in medical tape so that it cannot be seen and his eyes he has placed sun-glasses over so that they cannot be seen as well.
Thoughts, "Where are we headed... Conani!? I can't let her see..." his surface thoughts seem to disappear at that point.

Conani discovered her new ability almost instantly and intruded Zentaku's conscience without losing focus around herself. "See what?"

Zentaku thoughts are a bit shocked.
Thoughts: "C-Conani you can speak inn my mind!? ... I can't tell you.. *suddenly the voice in his mind shifts* YOU WENCH I SHALL- *voice shifts again* he... he is back... I was told it was needed to continue my training... I am sorry... I-I..."
Zentaku turns and runs out of the room.

Conani's hand twitched. She was leaning on her elbow and her shoulders sunk automatically.

"It's okay," she transmitted in Zentaku's mind. She found this type of mind connection awfully... intimate.

She looked up to Evangeline with surprise. "Did something happen?" Her facade was flawless.

Zentaku thinks just before he leaves the area of Conani's power's distance limit, "I am sorry please stay away from me... I don't want him anywhere near you...goodbye..."

Nosro inscribed a new scroll, this time using an insulative second scroll to bind with it. When he rolled it up, it appeared that it... didn't explode. Wonderful. Bringing it over the candle, he soon found out the activation energy was just high enough to prevent a deteonation without a considerable amount of heat.

Then he realized what he had just done. Rushing to get out another scroll he had made earlier, he delved through his piles until he finally found and activated it. A containment field appeared around the scroll. The blast... wasn't blocked...?

And now it had shrapnel.

Awesome. Nosro thought, immediately ducking under the table as a relatively quiet but still audible bang came from above. The containment barrier had weakened the blast to a point where it wouldn't wreck the library. That was a plus.

Getting up, he pretended nothing happened and took out another book on the continuity of time.

Zentaku walks into the room with Norso, "What happened here? looks like something exploded..."

"Make an inference." Nosro said, walking into the room flint was supposedly in.
