| Subject: 8. A unexpected dream. Tue 29 May 2012 - 17:48 | |
| Last night I had a dream about something that I considered enough to be of a roleplay or just a story of mine. I had trouble sleeping because of myself drinking soda, seconds before hitting to bed. As I struggled to sleep, this mysterious idea came out of nowhere. It grew and grew as time passed on, and since I could not sleep, I spent most of my night gathering this information and preserving it for the next day, which is today. Here is all of the thoughts I've gathered up and have arranged to be an introduction, spoiler'd for you all. Even though this is considered an idea for a roleplay or something like that, it'll be posted here since it came from a dream in the first place. Lore and Background - Spoiler:
Lore: Parallel universe, world similar to Earth's lifestyle but with different regions and lands. Space exists as usual but the planets and moons are controlled and manipulated by advanced technology used by humans, and perhaps other lifeforms for their own worlds. Though there is one in particular that we will focus on. One that is the major and vital source of Earth's survival since it arrived, Sol Primus, or simply known as the Sun.
Sol Primus was first created by a god that lived on a dark and cold Earth. He used a scroll with a drawn and precise outline of Sol Primus and a lantern that's metal features can bend and expand itself to fit Sol Primus's shape and form. Once Sol Primus was created, the god stabilized a special flame to light Sol Primus without any risk of melting the metal. Finally, the god raised its features far from Earth, and finally gave it light. The small flame expanded itself until it filled the metallic giant, illuminating the world as life began to form.
For helping Earth survive to this day and age, the god was deemed a hero nicknamed 'The Sun God', but the other gods' perspective was different. Instead of killing the man, they agreed to curse him for all he has given to the mortals. He would be smothered with Sol Primus's almighty energy, having burns all over his body. He would experience himself being thrown face-first everyday into the seemingly infinite heat and flames of his own magnificent creation. This torture would continue until his entire body would be covered with Sol Primus's energy, he would soon be immune to its energy as the feeling becomes second-nature.
His immortality had shown him nothing but pain and suffering, he wishes to become mortal and be consumed by the energy that covers his flesh, though he has one task he must complete while he is still a god. The man's hands must be bonded together while holding special chains that will not burn or be melted by the man's energy. These chains form a link between the man and Sol Primus. As the man pulls, raise, or lower the chains, Sol Primus will be affected and successfully manipulated based upon the man's actions. The god who once created Sol Primus would now be the steering wheel that guides its light every day and night, but for how long?
Background: To this current day and age, the ideas and concepts of advanced, futuristic technology skyrocket, such as the invention of spaceships and interstellar communication between other lifeforms. Though, the use of ancient magic and scrolls are still fondely used in most parts of the world. Many regions and lands share different backgrounds and culture toward supporting or opposing the use of magic, though most to all are open to learn the uses of technology as it may be the successor to magic one day.
The general time period of this would be a mix between sci-fi and fantasy. (i.e. An elderly wizard that shoots lightning bolts and flaming demons while having the capability and knowledge of operating the uses of a futuristic warship and also acknowledging the existence of such technology. That kind of thing.)
Introduction: - Spoiler:
The world is given a deadline from the gods. A single date that the people should remember, every day before it comes. The 9th of July, The day that Sol Primus was created and shined upon their world, will soon be the day that its light will extinguish, creating a slow, gradual darkness that will lead to the decline of mankind.
The god who raises the sun, will become mortal and quickly die, one week before the world slowly turns to frost.
However, hope still remains. The God of Prophecy was a major ally and friend towards the Sun God and was the only god to have disagreed with the idea of cursing him. In the middle of a mortal's night, the God of Prophecy secretly spoke with chosen individuals from different areas and regions of the world of what was to come, one week before the Sun God's death, two weeks before all hope for Earth is lost.
Those individuals must set aside their lives to preserve the flame of Sol Primus against the gods who speak of the end of humanity and to protect and perhaps find a way to undo the curse that plagued the Sun God before it is too late. Fate brings together those who heed the call.
