The old list became too long to edit in new entries, so yeah
46. Kotoura-san - Another show I happened to see on my tv's free list. Kotoura-san is about a young girl, named Kotoura, who has been born with a very special gift. Kotoura, can read minds. She has always been able to read minds, even when she was little. Kotoura, being young as she was, didn't understand that she was reading people's minds, she simply thought people were talking normaly when she heard them think. This leads to terrible misfortune, as everyone around her begins dubbing her a freak, and a monster. She quickly loses all of her friends, and even her family members desert her, all of which occurs when she is still little. Because of this, Kotoura has grown up to distance herself from everyone, living on her own as she attends a new highschool by herself. On her first day, she meets a perverted young man, named Manabe, who immediately takes a strong liking to Kotoura. As if Manabe wasn't enough, Kotoura is quickly ushered into the school's "ESP Society" club, in which even more people take a high interest in her. I enjoyed the show. It was pretty solid as a blend of drama and romantic comedy. Interestingly enough, as much as they focus on Manabe's perverted mental imagery, there are surprisingly no panty shots or nudity, which, I must generally commend the series for, when animes do not have such. Monstly because it means they focus more on the plot, but I suppose we all like the occasional fan service. Indeed. It was a good series, and I recommend it. And well, it's one of the few ones that actually has a solid ending, and answers questions that some anime tend to leave unanswered. ....... 6.5/10

47. Towanoquon - Again, first saw it because of tv thing. Series is 6 episodes long, each of which is like a mini-movie, being 50 minutes long each. It is essentially about people suddenly attaining super powers, a group hunting and killing them, and a group who finds and hides them. The main character, Quon, is basically the appointed leader of the group that makes an effort to save these individuals. Due to the way the powers work, the person who gains them mutates rapidly, taking on a monsterous form as their power fires off randomly, as it works via emotion, and the most common emotion in said situation, is panic. Quon and his group teach people how to control their powers, and of course the power users return to a normal human form when they calm down. The group that hunts and kills them, is a secret organization with top-notch futuristic equipment and technology, using cyborgs to combat these power users, which they have dubbed 'larvae'. Quon is very active in his efforts of saving people, and has become quite well known by this organization, who has named him "Insania", without knowing his true identity (as the transformation process makes the individual unrecognizable). Most powers in this series are not typical ones you'd find in comic books, but are more varied and unique. Quon's for example, range from regeneration, to creating blades of light, to being able to control the acceleration/motion of anything he touches. What stood out the most about this series to me, were its intense and well animated/designed fight sequences. They were pretty amazing, and some of the best I've ever seen in an anime. So indeed. I suggest watching it if you like action, super powers, or anything else I mentioned above. ....... 7/10

48. Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt - I'd heard of this one through a friend initially, but I hadn't gone to watch it seriously until some time later. The show is about a pair of sister angels who hunt ghosts on earth using weapons summoned/created by their garnments, in order to earn 'heaven coins' which will eventually be used to get them back into heaven. Panty is a blonde sex-obsessed tramp of sorts, and Stocking is a goth chick who is obsessed with sweets. They are ordered around by an african american priest named Garterbelt, and have an unkillable pet thing that is just, well, weird. The entire series is done in a strange animation style comparable to a blend between anime and american cartoons. While the show does sort of have a story, it doesn't really seem to take itself seriously in any regard. It's mostly a comedy out the ass, however. The show is funny at times, but I didn't really find it too entertaining. It just never really caught my interest. ...... 5.5/10

49. Shinryaku! Ika Musume - Found out about this one while just looking through a list of shows, and it immediately caught my attention with its unique concept. The show is about a squid girl (named Ika Musume, literally 'Squid Girl') who is tired of humans polluting the ocean. In order to stop this pollution, she invades the surface world, and plans on taking over humanity, by herself. She meets a young boy and his sister within the first couple minutes of being on the surface, and comes to realize that she isn't being taken seriously. To prove her seriousness, she uses her incredibly strong tentacles (which look like her hair) to punch a hole in the nearest building, which happens to be the woman's small beachside restaraunt/cafe (called "The Lemon"). Ika is forced to pay off the damages by working for them until she earns enough money. The Lemon is run by the small family, consisting of two adult sisters and their little brother. The series is a slice of life/comedy, and has only a vague plot, without any deep or complex twists or complications. The story overall revolves around Ika and her mini adventures, involving her friends at the Lemon, a life guard, a girl who is obsessed with Ika, a group of American scientists who graduated MIT who think she's an alien, a rival restaraunt, and very rarely a mini version of Ika who appears in people's dreams. I found that the scientists provided a decently large amount of entertainment, as the shenanigans they cause are always over the top. Plus, they tend to speak a decent amount of English, so it's even more entertaining. Overall, the show is amusing, and is just sort of fun to watch. It's always light hearted, which is also nice. Every episode is actually three smaller episodes fitted together, I may add. So indeed, if you like funny or light hearted things, this would be a good show to watch. Even though it doesn't really have much of a plot, it still held my attention with the fun little adventures within the restaraunt. ....... 6.5/10

50. Tenchi Muyo: Ryo-Ohki - Well, here I am at my 50th review. I knew I couldn't pick just any anime for this one, it had to be something special, so here it is: Tenchi Muyo. This show was my absolute favorite when I was young. I would always sit in front of the tv, late at night on Saturdays, so I could see Tenchi and his adventures. Now, ten years later, I am reviewing it, watching it to completion for the first time since then. Often times, things we enjoyed when we were little don't hold our interest as much when we became older, but this time, that's not the case. I enjoyed Tenchi Muyo even more now than I did back then, and with the aid of actually understanding what it was about. What was originally several OVA segments was compiled into one 20-episode series, resulting in Tenchi Muyo: Ryo-Ohki. Tenchi is a young man in highschool who works hard in his family's fields, and always tries to do the right thing. He is told never to go into a nearby cave, because it houses a demon spirit that was sealed away long ago in a great battle. Regardless of what his family tells him, Tenchi frequently goes to this cave, and has since he was little, always finding some sort of comfort in being near it. That, and his rebellious-curious side gets the better of him. One day, he decides to investigate the cave fully, not believing in the legend. By a series of accidents, he not only learns that the legend is true, but he also frees the demon from its prison. He escapes before the demon can follow, and makes it out safely. One day, while taking a nap on the roof of his school (by means of accidentally falling asleep) he awakes at night to find a mysterious young woman nearby. She speaks of revenge and her terrible power, and he soon realizes that she is the demon that he had set free. She chases him through the school, blowing it up left and right by means of her incredible power, one thing leads to another and she leaves him alone for an unknown reason. He returns home to find her in his bed, taking a nap. The story progresses from here, with the viewer learning that she is in fact not a demon, but a space pirate named Ryoko, of whom which has immense power, and immortality to boot. Other people arrive from space, and before Tenchi knows it, he is right in the middle of a love triangle, being the object of affection not only for Ryoko, but for these other new girls as well. The story is a fun harem ride of comedy, drama, and, well, fun. Tenchi learns many things along the way, and realizes that things may not have been how he thought they were, and that he has been in the dark up until this point about his life as a whole. The story is not so simple, however, as it takes some twists and turns along the way that you may not expect. I know I didn't. Overall, it was pleasant, and I'm very happy that there are other Tenchi Muyo series out there, even though this one will always be THE series, for me. And well, Ryoko has to be my favorite anime girl in all of anime, and has been ever since I saw the show many years ago. I suppose I should wrap this up. To be honest, it took me quite some time to determine a rating for this show. I had thought I knew what I would rate it before I finished it, but when I actually went to determine a rating, I couldn't figure out a specific number. I felt that rating it too low wouldn't be right, since it's so special to me, but at the same time it's not absolutely without fault. What a conundrum. But, I finally came to a conclusion. I have to keep it realistic for the people reading the review, but I also have to give it a rating reflective of my feeling for it. So, final rating is: 7.75/10

51. Paranoia Agent - I have known about Paranoia agent for quite some time, and have meant to watch it, but never really got around to it until now. The series begins, focusing on a young woman who designs characters for merchandise and (eventually) tv shows. Her latest creation is a very large success, a small, pink dog, with large eyes and a big head, named Maromi. Everything seems to be going well, until she is tasked with creating the next biggest hit. She cannot come up with anything, and so becomes the subject of stress. One night, she is walking down a dark alley at night, when a young boy around middle school age, skates up to her on golden skates, and assaults her with a golden, crooked baseball bat. She was unable to see his face because he wore a baseball cap that was tilted down, and he was able to get away. Soon after, a series of assaults carried out by an individual matching the description begin. The media soon dubs the attacker "Little Slugger" (or, Shounen Bat in the Japanese version). The series is loosely about a pair of detectives working on the case. The first six or so episodes of the show are pretty good in my opinion, as all of the assault cases are mysteriously linked together, and it's a pretty good mystery thriller style show. However, as it moves on to the later episodes, it starts getting more random and seemingly pointless, almost as if the episodes were put there just for entertainment, as opposed to being there for actual plot reasons. In the end, the story was good, but it sort of deviated from its better roots, and took a few turns I personally didn't enjoy. It's good, but could have been better....... 6/10

52. Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Next - Since it was a sequel to an anime I had previously reviewed, I naturally had to review it as well. Though, I actually wanted to see it, so the previous statement is somewhat possibly invalid. Following an overall similar story arch as the original anime, it revolves around Kodaka, a highschool boy who appears to be a delinquent due to his hair color and facial expression(though he is actually a nice guy who tries to please everyone) and the club he attends, the Neighbor's Club (a club focused on making friends), and everyone within it. The story is different, but the overall theme remains the same, where it focuses on the club and its activities, random things they do, etc. I was pleased that they cleared up numerous things in this season that were not openly said in the last one, but were implied previously. Overall, I liked it like I did with the first one, but the ending to me wasn't very good. The setup to the ending was good, but it feels like the ending was put together by people who didn't know how to wrap the story up. That, and I felt like bitchslapping the shit out of one of the characters that is normally a decent character, in the final episode. Nonetheless, it was a good second season, and it would be nice, but not expected, if they were to produce more. ....... 6.5/10

53. Black Butler - Another one of those that I'd known about for some time but didn't take any interest in because, well... I just didn't. Didn't really know anything about it, and I didn't really care. But, I recently watched it and found it to be good, so I figured hey, it would be good to add it to my knowledge pool. The story focuses around Ciel Phantomhive, an English kid who lives alone in his mansion with his few servants and special butler. His parents were killed via arson when he was younger, and he has vowed since then to take revenge on the killers. He even went as far as to contract a demon to aid him in his endeavor, a demon by the name of Sebastian Michaelis. Sebastian is to help Ciel take revenge on the killers, and act as his butler, doing anything he is ordered to. Once the contract is fulfilled, Sebastian gets to eat Ciel's soul. The story is pretty good, involving Ciel and Sebastian, and their daily lives together, with Ciel and his revenge coming into place and so forth. Overall it has a central plot, but is full of side adventure episodes one may call filler. The main cast is enjoyable, and the show itself is entertaining enough. I personally rather liked the older servant, Tanaka, who usually doesn't have anything to say or do, but chooses to simply sit and go 'hoh. hoh. hoh.' with a cup of tea in his hands as the others discuss matters. Along with the interesting outcast of clutsy super-human servants, we also have a Chinese black market dealer, an Indian prince, and a very feminine male grim reaper named Grell. Of whom which uses a chainsaw in place of a scythe, and has a rather large fondness of Sebastian. The show was likeble overall, and was always entertaining to watch. Though, I couldn't help but notice the large amount of material geared toward female viewers. Not that I have any complaints, I simply found it amusing. I suppose I will leave it at that. Good show, old chap. ......... 7/10

54. Hataraku Maou-Sama - Found this one on the Myanimelist website while searching for new shows to watch. Hataraku Maou-Sama follows an evil overlord named Satan attempting to take over the fantasy-style world of Ente Isla, along with his army of demons and powerful demon generals. The demons have names similar to Christian demon/devil names, but it should be noted that this is actually a seperate universe, and the characters with such names are not the same ones from the Christian religion. During a fight with The Hero, Ente Isla's champion protector of good, the overlord is sent through a dimensional gate to another world along with one of his trusted generals. Upon arrival, he quickly realizes things are.... different. He no longer holds his demonic form, but looks like a normal human. As does his general. The overlord has been transported to Earth, Japan to be specific. Their demonic magic mysteriously gone, they must find a way back to Ente Isla. To fit in, they take up human names, the overlord's being Maou, and his general's being Ashiya. In order for the demons to survive, Maou takes up a job at a local MgRonald's, as they share a small appartment together. The series is light-hearted and comedic, and is fun to watch overall. The series progresses from there with the overlord and his general making a living in their small appartment together. And we mustn't forget the powerful mount, Dullahan, Maou's favorite black bicycle. Much more detail would spoil the series. But indeed, it was good, and I do recommend it. ...... 6.5/10

55. Nichijou - Found this while looking through a list of anime on Myanimelist.net. Nichijou is a 26 episode series roughly detailing the happenings inside of a certain highschool. It's pretty much what you would get if you combined Lucky Star with Azumanga Daioh, except it's so much better than either of those shows. It's pretty much nothing but random comedy, and has literally no plot. Although it follows numerous characters, it primarily centers around three girls, named Yuuko, Mio, and Mai, and events that happen in their lives as friends. Aside from the main girls, it also focuses on a young girl referred to as simply 'Professor', and a robot girl that she made named Nano, and their home life together. I found myself greatly enjoying Nichijou. It's very silly and fun on numerous levels, all the while keeping my/the viewer's attention with mini conflicts and side stories. I don't think I will ever enjoy any random school-based comedy anime as much as I did Nichijou. Honestly, I put off finishing it for a couple weeks now, simply because I didn't want to run out of episodes to watch, because it's just so delightful. I think just about anyone would be able to enjoy it, it's just that good. In the end, I decided to bump up the rating I was going to give it, because I realized that it was just too low for this show. And, once more, it's one of those shows with really good opening sequences and music made just for it, that really grew on me. ........ 8/10

56. Attack on Titan - Naturally I heard about this one because of all of the hype about it. Originally, I didn't want to watch it (yet) because it was an incomplete series, I wanted to wait for it to be finished before I watched it because I tend to watch anime in several episode sessions, and dislike waiting for new episodes to come out. Well, I wanted to watch one episode of it, just to see how it is overall. Next thing I know, I finish all of it that they'd released, and am waiting each week to see the next episode. Indeed, it caught my interest that quickly. The series focuses on Eren Jaeger, a young guy who aspires to leave his home one day and journey the world. Unfortunately, he is forced to stay in his home town, for his home is in fact a town located in one of three enormous walls, protecting the cities and residents inside from what they have come to call 'Titans'. These titans do everything in their power to consume humans. It is unknown as to why this is the case, as the titans do not seem to attack any other animal, and possess virtually no intelligence. One day, due to a sudden tragic accident, Eren vows to kill all titans, and joins the military force in order to combat them. Along with his childhood friend Armin, and adopted sister Mikasa, he does just that. Joining the military, Eren is able to join the Recon Corps and leave these walls, to see the land beyond, and end the lives of the titans he hates so. The series takes place in an alternate reality in which humanity is driven nearly to extinction, and nothing is known of the world outside of the walls, aside from very old textbooks that are considered taboo to read. The level of technology they possess is limited, mostly muskets and cannons in terms of projectile weaponry. However, the soldiers fight the titans using a set of double grappling devices suspended from their sides, using a pair of swords to kill the titans, attacking their only weak point (the back of the neck). The titans seem to regenerate, and never die no matter how much damage they take, unless the back of their neck is damaged enough. Unfortunately, I can't say too much about the series due to the fact that the important things are very spoiler heavy. Nonetheless, it is a good series. It has well done action sequences and a good plot. As good as it is, it has one or two issues that I personally dislike. It has minor pacing problems occasionally, where some episodes have a large plot advancement, and others have virtually none (and the entire episode takes place within a 5 minute span in-show. Stuff like that), and the fact that it doesn't have a complete ending. I do hope that they make another season, as the ending is... well... something they should have in the middle of the series, not the end. There is no actual 'end', it just kind of leaves it hanging. But, that aside, it was still very good. I recommend it to pretty much everyone. ....... 7.5/10

57. Yosuga no Sora - I heard somebody talking about this one. From what I gathered, it was a romance anime with drama or something messed up, wasn't really sure what it was, but hearing that it was messed up or dramatic in some way got my attention. I watched a few episodes, and noticed that the plot advanced a bit faster than I expected. That's when I realized it was a dating sim anime. Due to my watch and finish policy on reviews, it was too late for me to turn back. It's not that I hate dating sim anime, it's just that I don't get into them. Ever. Regardless. Yosuga no Sora is about a pair of twins, a brother and a sister, moving to a small town to live alone, I believe because their parents were dead. It goes from there, with the guy getting romantically involved with a couple different girls in different story arcs, old friends, new friends, etc. And the last arc of course, he and his sister hook up. Drama and such ensues. It's a dating sim anime, not much else to say. ......5.5/10

58. Samurai 7 - I've been meaning to watch this one for a long time, but just never did until now. Samurai 7 takes place in an alternate reality universe in which traditional, old-style samurai are mixed in with steampunk settings and giant robots. Yeah, pretty much. Giant robots that used to be samurai have banded together since the great war, and have taken up the position of ruthless bandits, taking rice by force from small farms on the hill sides, unable to defend themselves. One day however, one of these villages sends their priestess out to the city in search of samurai to defend their village. With nothing to offer but rice for the samurai's service, it is a bleak hope. However, with their determination, they eventually find samurai to help. Along the way, they find more and more to help them, until they put together a rag-tag team of, you guessed it, seven samurai to help them. However, these samurai are a little out of the ordinary. They are performers, mechanics, loners, and one of them is even a machine. Together they are tasked with protecting this village from legions of enormous robotic samurai with superior weapons and numbers. The show was definitely well done, and I enjoyed it. It's not very often when I can say that I am satisfied with a series in a way that leaves me content with its ending. I neither think they dragged it on too long, nor ended it abruptly. This is one of those few series that is good exactly as it is, and needs no continuation. To me anyway. It should be noted that this series is a re-imagining of a 1950's live action movie (Seven Samurai). The original movie didn't have robots or steampunk style themes, but the addition of them certainly made it more interesting. I'd suggest giving it a go, as it is a rather good series. .........7/10

59. Watamote - Unlike the other more recent animes, this one I heard about through a friend and ended up watching it out of interest. For some reason, the show seemed to have promise, and I wasn't wrong. It was actually very good. Watamote is about a young girl named Tomoko Kuroki. Tomoko has been without friends (save for one friend, Yuu) for her entire life. Tomoko is unpopular. And, Tomoko has never had a boyfriend. She has, however, become very popular, gotten many friends, and all the relationships she'd ever want. ...in dating sims. Tomoko is going to enter high school, and believes that with her extensive sim training, she will become very popular, with everything she has learned. However, this is not the case. Due to Tomoko's extreme introverted and reclusive tendencies, she can't even hold a conversation with anyone, barely even muttering what she wishes to say. Tomoko however, possesses a very fierce and extreme internal dialogue that she uses to internally express herself when she fails to do so externally. In essence, the show is about Tomoko trying to become popular. And failing miserably. Meanwhile, her brother, Tomoki, is a virtual opposite, being not only popular, but also a star athlete of his school. Only adding to this amusing fact, is the fact that he is her younger brother. You could imagine where this leads. It's a very good show, being both funny and interesting all throughout. I may add that the opening has grown on me like many other shows, and is an upbeat, almost metal-sounding song, very fitting for the introvert that Tomoko is (ironically of course). The show seems to have a certain charm to it, very evident to me that the director was a very good one. I do suggest giving it a watch, it won't disappoint. ...... 7/10

60. Aim for the Top! Gunbuster - Found it on a list of anime, decided to watch it. Being from the 80's, I knew I was going to see a decent amount of cheese and preposterous plot nonsense, and I'm not going to beat around the bush. I did. Overall it was alright, but it was rather cheesy and tacky, as expected, with unrealistic and out of proportion sci-fi nonsense. It was actually pretty ok though. Gunbuster is a short OVA series of 6 episodes about a young woman named Noriko, of whom which is training to be a mech pilot in order to combat a race of giant space insects that are the side of space ships (and can travel at light speed apparently. ...but only sometimes. ...somehow). Noriko is a klutz, but still manages to do ok due to her perseverance. One day, Noriko is chosen to pilot the world's shiny new super mech, Gunbuster. So yeah, that's the plot. They also seem to be rather fond of the theory that people age slower when traveling at light speed, and exploit the shit out of it near the end of the series (it's pretty ridiculous at the end). Honestly, other than the cheesy and unrealistic 80's anime stuff, I only have one complaint. Well, a 2-part complaint. ...ok, maybe more than two parts. The final episode was entirely black and white. The rest of the series is color, mind you. Some argue that it was done for artistic reasons, but I honestly think that's bullcrap. During one of the largest fights of the series, also in the final episode, they used still images instead of animation, and skipped pretty much the entire fight. Just saying. It's not art, it's a lack of budget. Perhaps if the episode had been black and white at specific parts, I'd buy it, but not since the entire thing was. Try doing that in a modern anime. People would be pissed. On top of that, I legitimately found myself not being able to pay as much attention, due to the fact that I was focused on the odd change. There's also a weird, out of place fan service moment in the climax of the final episode, which just sort of made me stop and take a moment to pull myself out of the show to realize its odd placement. Nonetheless. The show really wasn't bad, and I don't regret watching it, but I can't help but say "I told you so" to myself in regards to the quality I was expecting when I went into it. Cheesy. Unrealistic. And 80's fanservice. And by Gainax no less. I should have seen it coming. And well, I did. ......5.5/10

61. Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club - I heard about Free from a friend of mine and thought I'd watch it. Free is about a group of friends in highschool who all have two things in common; they enjoy swimming, and they are all guys with girl's names. One of them in particular, Haruka Nanase, has a great passion when it comes to water. Haruka only feels truly free when he is in water, and often spends any moment he can in water. After an event in their collective childhood however, Haruka decides never to swim competitively again, in fear that he will hurt someone's feelings if he beats them, as he had another childhood friend who is no longer around. The friend group decides that they want to revive their school's swim club. Requiring more members than they have, they seek to recruit a new member, so their club may open, and they may swim. I am in fact leaving out a few details, but it's short enough that I'd be spoiling it if I included all of them. The show is good, and is quite flashy, with good (and constant) water particle effects and artistic designing. Very obviously an anime geared more toward females, though I'm not complaining. For being a show about swimming, it was actually pretty good. Good opening and ending, good plot, good design and artistic effects. Overall it was good. .....6/10

62. Danganronpa: The Animation - Watched this one as a recommendation of sorts. Essentially, Danganronpa is about a group of students enrolling in a special academy for the super-gifted. Each student possesses a unique quality specific to them; one is a genius, one is a gambler, one is a badass, one is a model, one is rich, one is buff, and so on. Upon entering, they all meet each other in the gym. Their greetings are cut short when a black and white teddy bear, named 'Monobear', enters the stage, and explains their fate to them: Only one student may graduate, and the only way to graduate, is to murder the other students. Without being caught. The anime goes from there with the students being trapped and unable to escape, following a student named Naegi as the main character. Once someone has been murdered, they are forced to have a trial. If the culprit is discovered, they die. If the wrong person is chosen as the culprit, then everyone but the culprit dies. Overall the show was pretty good. Mystery show and all that. I really don't have any complaints about it, except for the ending. Without spoiling anything, I will say that the ending was far-fetched and honestly a let-down. Not because it wasn't big enough, or wasn't what I personally wanted, but was rather just weird and didn't really fit with the rest of the show. I suppose you could say it was an unpleasant shock much like it would be if at the end of the Lord of the Rings series, we find out that the entire thing was virtual reality, and takes place in the future. It's just...out of place. I suppose I should point out that it is based off of a videogame, so I guess that may explain the writing a little. But nonetheless, the ending was still bad in my opinion. I suppose I should also add that several of the characters seemed to almost have their own animation style, which I personally liked. They were the same overall, but with certain details that were exclusive to them. And well, all the characters are so different that you'd be hard pressed to NOT find one that you like. Sakura-chan was my favorite, and one of the better characters as a whole I've seen in anime in general. ........ 6/10

- Afterthoughts:
Honestly, it would have gotten a 6.5, or even a 7 possibly, but the ending was just bad. Bad enough that I didn't want to give it that high of a rating. Don't get me wrong, the ending of the show in general was good, and the show itself certainly was good. But there are a few details about the ending that soured it, a lot. And if you watch it, you may see what I mean.
63. Diebuster - Also known as the sequel to Gunbuster. Diebuster was made many years after Gunbuster, and truth be told, one could hardly call it a sequel, as it takes place so far in the future compared to the original Gunbuster. It does however take place in the same universe, but with many notable differences. The story is about an android named Nono, who aspires to become what she calls a 'Nonoriri'. To become this, she goes on a journey, leaving her small home in the country behind. She makes her way to the city, and meets a pilot for Buster Machines (called 'Topless'), giant mechs that almost seem to be alive, possessing a degree of intelligence, and the capability of moving on their own, when they are allowed to, albeit minimally. Each Buster Machine is different for each pilot, and each pair of pilot and Buster Machine share a unique bond that links them together somehow. Upon meeting this girl (whose name is Lark), Nono decides that she wants to become a Topless as well, despite the fact that she is an android, and therefore is unable to have this bond with the machines. From that point, Nono adopts Lark as her 'big sister', against Lark's will, and follows her continuously until she is able to join Lark and the other pilots, all the while attempting to become a pilot herself, to no avail. The story continues from there. In my opinion, Diebuster was much better than Gunbuster, but I also tend to like newer animes. Diebuster was animated very well, and had a good story. And well, like many other shows, the opening was great in my opinion. I do suggest watching it. And, normally I'd say one should be sure to watch the first season of a show first, before watching the second, but due to the extreme difference in time frames between shows, the lack of character continuity, and the overall difference between the two, I'd say that it's not necessary to see Gunbuster first. So, indeed. The show was good, and does actually touch up on certain life-values, like friendship and passion. So yeah, I enjoyed it. ........ 6.75/10

64. Hyouka - Hyouka is a mystery (and what one may call very loosely romance) anime that revolves around a highschool boy named Houtarou. Houtarou has a certain policy that he lives by, where he believes that he should not waste energy where it is not necessary. Therefore, he is very commonly viewed as lazy and quiet. Houtarou is also cynical. One day, Houtarou receives a request from his big sister, of whom which is traveling around the world. His school's (and her former school's) literature club is going to be disbanded unless it gets another member, so she wants him to join it. Reluctantly, Houtarou does so. There, he meets Chitanda Eru, a member of the wealthy and influential Chitanda family, of whom which is also somewhat whimsical in nature and is a notably kind hearted individual. There are also two other member, Satoshi, who is a friend of Houtarou's, who prides himself on being a 'human database', able to retain a large amount of information but with no practical applications for it, and there is Ibara, a friend of Chitanda's who seemingly enjoys giving Houtarou a hard time. Things take an interesting turn when Chitanda discovers that Houtarou has a knack for solving mysteries. When something piques Chitanda's curiosity (and many things do), she will often go to Houtarou first, stating 'I'm curious!' with a certain degree of innocent charm, which will inevitably convince him to solve her mystery, reluctant as he is. The anime is a blend between the club and their activities, and the mysteries that Chitanda discovers, all generally revolving around Houtarou's perspective. The anime is pretty good, having good animation and good mysteries throughout that keep things fresh. All of the characters have good personalities that obviously had thought put into them, and the mysteries are strange and obscure enough that they aren't so simple that they make you groan after they reveal the truth behind each one. I enjoyed the anime, however truth be told, the ending was surprisingly lackluster. The final mystery was notably boring, and the actual conclusion to the show was... kind of unsatisfactory. The ending scene was nice, but the actual conclusion was unwanted. Without spoiling it, it basically dangles a shiny pair of keys in front of you throughout the whole anime, and then in the final episode it places them in your hand, only to then immediately snatch them away while going 'lolnope'. Regardless of that though, the anime as a whole was good, and I did enjoy it. Also, I suppose I should note that 'Hyouka' translates to 'Icecream'.......... 6.5/10
I am obligated to say that Sena now has a competitor for cutest anime girl. I speak of course, of Chitanda Eru. Also, those eyes.

65. Yuusha ni Narenakatta Ore wa Shibushibu Shuushoku wo Ketsui Shimashita - Aka Yusibu. The title translates to "I Couldn't Become the Hero so I Reluctantly Got a Job" if you were wondering. The anime is about a guy named Raul Chaser who is fighting against the Demon Lord and his legion of demons and monsters in an almost Dungeons and Dragons style world. Raul is almost able to get close to the Demon Lord's castle, all the while fighting hoards of skeletons and monsters, when the news is brought that the Demon Lord is, in fact, dead. Suddenly, Raul is put out of the job, along with all the other heroes. With the Demon Lord dead, they no longer have to defend the people from the endless hoards of monsters and the Demon Lord himself, thereby making the heroes essentially useless to society. Because they had been heroes, fighting in war for so long, they have no employment history or experience, making them yet even more useless in society's eyes. Raul sucks it up, and reluctantly gets a job at the only place he can, a magic shop. This shop sells magic items for every day use, such as a magic item that heats food, or a magic item that dries your hair after you bathe. Ah yes, and I would like to point out that while this anime takes place in a Dungeons and Dragons style universe, the city itself, is modern. The magic items are literally things like microwaves and hairdryers. It is rather amusing. During Raul's time working at this magic shop, a new and mysterious person is hired, and Raul is the one who is instructed to train this person. The story only becomes more interesting when Raul learns just who exactly this person is. No, I won't tell. You have to watch it for yourself. The anime was a pretty nice surprise, and was notably amusing throughout, not only in the actual plot, but also in the fact that it's a fantasy universe that is basically set up the same way a modern world would be. For example, they use monster-drawn carriages to get around, and the carriages look like modern or futuristic cars, while being pulled by things like small dragons. One of them is literally the Star Trek Enterprise. The show is funny, with a good plot, and is notably a bit fanservicey. Overall, I enjoyed it, and would recommend giving it a watch. ....... 7/10
And even though I just had a review where I introduced another girl running for the cutest anime girl position, Yusibu introduced yet another one that I'd put pretty high on the list. Fino Bloodstone would be the person I refer to.

66. Ouran Highschool Host Club - Another one of those animes I was somewhat but not really avoiding due to perceptions of the fan base. I didn't think it would be any good. However, I inevitably decided that I should add it to my knowledge pool just because. Ouran is about a highschool girl named Haruhi who is currently attending a prestigious school for the rich. Unlike the majority of its students, Haruhi did not get into the school simply because she had a lot of money, no, she is actually notably poor. Haruhi got into the school on grades alone. One day Haruhi happens across a certain club, the Host Club, in which a handful of the school's super rich and beautiful boys play host to lady guests, for profit. Haruhi, being her usual self, doesn't take interest in it, as she is more dedicated to her school work than playing around. However, while in the Host Club room, she accidentally breaks an 8 million yen vase. From that point, she is contracted by the host club to work for them as a host until her debt is paid off. However, there is but one problem. Haruhi is a girl. So, the club has her dress up as a male student, which Haruhi pulls off rather well given the fact that her hair is already short like a boy's, and act as a host to the female customers (if you don't know what a host club is, I suggest looking it up). In her time at the host club, Haruhi gets to know the other hosts; Kyoya, a cool and calculating individual who is the club's manager of sorts, planning for the events and various ways to make money. Mori, a quiet and tall man who is likewise tall, handsome, and strong. Haninozuka, aka "Honey", the token shota of the group, of whom loves sweets and his stuffed bunny. Coincidentally, Honey is the same age as the others, despite appearing to be in grade school. Honey and Mori can almost always be found together. Then you have Kaoru and Hikaru, the devilish and mischievous twins of whom which can always be found playing some game or testing people to see if they can tell them apart. Lastly, you have the club's president, Tamaki, a happy-go-lucky individual who, while can be a bit dim at times, is incredibly charismatic and silly. The anime is essentially about Haruhi and her time in the club, as a host. I was actually surprised that it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. On the contrary, it was rather decent. And of course, like many others, I liked the opening. So indeed, I recommend giving it a watch, provided that girly things and hot guys don't bother you. .......... 6.5/10

18. Evangelion 3.0 - After the events of Evangelion 2.0, I really wanted to see where they would take the movie series. As I'm sure everyone knows, I like Evangelion. I liked the rebuild series, but I was getting skeptical around 2.0 and the end of 2.0 because it was starting to turn in a completely different direction. But, seeing as how epic 2.0 turned out to be in the end, I was really looking forward to 3.0. Well, 3.0 finally came out, and I waited several months to see it, subbed. I just...I don't even. I think it's a little too harsh to say that they fucked the series up in 3.0, but I can't help but feel that way. They not only completely deviate from the original plot, but they do it in a bad way. As an action movie, or even as a stand alone movie, it was ok. But not as a sequel. Characters that were disliked by the masses before, lose all redeeming qualities (even characters I personally liked, I no longer cared if they lived or died because they were that bad in terms of writing and such). Many changes go unexplained, that really should have been explained (like Misato's sudden hatred of Shinji, after cheering him on so much at the end of 2.0). And a host of other shit. I won't say the movie was bad, because it really wasn't, but they dun goof'd. And they dun goof'd hard. Frankly, I'm not sure if I even really care about 4.0 anymore. At least Kaworu was still cool, and played a larger role this time.
19. Paprika - Dove into this one after seeing the opening credit sequence, and hearing that amazing song they played during it. The movie was NOT what I was expecting. It was rather strange (although in an understandable way), and kind of leaves a couple things only loosely explained (they explain stuff, but not very clearly). So yeah. It's basically Inception, where they jump into people's dreams and whatnot. Though, if I'm not mistaken, this came out before Inception. So yeah. While it seemed a little odd, and had some meh qualities, it was actually a pretty good movie. The ending was good, and left a good taste in my mouth. Sort of like....Paprika. Bam.
20. Perfect Blue - Was looking for anime on MyAnimeList, and randomly clicked on this one. Crazy fucking movie. Shit's about an idol girl turned actress who loses her mind or someshit. Felt like I was losing my own mind just by watching this damned movie. It's not really bad, but it's fucking mentally painful to keep up with toward the end. I mean seriously, fucking crazy movie that rots your brain with fucking existential paradoxical conundrum shit. Other than that, it vaguely reminded me of Paprika, and in turn made me think 'Inception'.
21. Colorful - Not to be confused with the shitty anime series of the same name. Colorful is a movie about a lost soul who is on their way into oblivion after death, when they are confronted by an individual. They are informed that they have 'won' a second chance at life, if they pass a test. They had apparently done something so bad in life, that they would not be reincarnated, but would be sent into nothingness for eternity. This person is dropped back down to Earth to win back his life with no memory of their own life. They wake up in the body of a kid that just killed himself. As he possesses the body, he is met by crying relatives and doctors looking over him in a hospital room. From there, he tries to conform to this person's life, without any knowledge of who they were or anything. So yeah. Guy did bad, doesn't remember his own life, possesses kid for second chance, kid killed himself, has to conform to the life he is now given, and must remember what he did wrong. Basically. The movie wasn't bad. It was slow for the most part, but it was good overall. I've seen worse. There were some feels, but not as much as I was expecting.
22. Summer Wars - I'd seen it used in a few AMVs before, which made me want to see it. Summer Wars is about a highschool student named Kenji. Kenji is approached one day by a girl he goes to school with. This girl makes a strange proposition, that he accompany her to her a family get-together over the weekend to celebrate her grandmother's birthday. Kenji finds this odd, considering he doesn't even know this girl, but he accepts. Upon arriving to the location, he discovers the true reason behind his attending of this event: he is to pose as her fiance. Kenji is taken aback by this, not expecting it. On the first night, he receives a strange text from someone he doesn't know. The text is composed of a math code, and, Kenji being the math nerd that he is, is compelled to solve it. It turns out to be the master code for an online global game/interface system that literally almost everyone in the world uses, both as a game, and as an important work helping device. As it turns out, the code helped a virus break into the system and begin stealing everyone's account, including Kenji's. With the accounts under its control, the virus is able to control vital worldly functions. Nearly all electronics are under its control. And you can get the rest from actually watching the movie. Overall, it was decent. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, but it turned out to be ok anyway. Involves Kenji having to get along with and deal with the girl's family and bla bla bla.
23. Wolf Children: Ame and Yuki - When I saw this movie on my anime list, I was oddly drawn to it, without much knowledge about the movie. When I heard it was a sad movie, I became rather interested in it, because it seemed very promising as a sad movie, considering it's about loss and raising kids in a difficult environment and such. So, I watched the movie. I kept anticipating the sad moments, and ended up not reacting when the sad things came up, because I was anticipating. So, in the end, I ended up ruining the emotional moments for myself because I was expecting them. That aside, it was a good movie. Well done, well written, well animated, well directed, so on and so forth. It's basically about a woman who falls in love with a Lycanthrope (werewolf), and has children with him. It's about her struggles as a human woman trying to raise Lycanthropic children on her own.
24. A Letter to Momo - I happened to randomly see a preview for this movie somewhere, and was immediately intrigued by the concept. A Letter to Momo is about Momo, a young girl who is forced to move to an island with her mother, when her mother finds an employment opportunity in said remote location. Momo lost her father to an accident out at sea, so it's just her mother and her. Fortunately, the location they're moving to happens to be where her mother's parents live, and they are given one of the grandparents' old housing areas to live in (a series of rooms separate from their main house). Momo is left all alone, unable to attend school yet, and having no friends as her mother goes to work. Momo soon begins seeing strange shapes and shadowy forms that seem to be following her. In terror, Momo flees the house and begins actively avoiding them. Later, she discovers that these figures are actually 3 supernatural beings, whose purpose on the Earth is unknown to Momo. Their presence begins to become a hassle to Momo, as they seem bound to her and the house for some reason. The movie is essentially about Momo's life on the island, and coping with the 3 supernatural beings, as well as the death of her father. The movie is a slice of life mixed in with a little family drama and such. Overall it's pretty nice, a little touching here and there, and was just good overall.
25. Grave of the Fireflies - Grave of the Fireflies takes place during the end of World War 2, following a young boy named Seita, and his little sister named Setsuko. The movie is essentially about Seita trying to raise and provide for his sister after their home was hit by American firebombs, which kill their mother. Seita must provide for his sister, as his father fights the Americans out at sea. Saying too much about the movie would spoil it, so I'm afraid this is about as much as I can give. The movie was relatively heavy, detailing the hardships of surviving alone during war time. Although the movie was sad, it wasn't as sad as I was expecting. Likewise, the ending wasn't bad, but I felt it was a bit abrupt. There wasn't much falling action (wind-down) once the movie hit its theoretical climax. Nonetheless, as previously stated, the movie was good.
