| Ok, I have a lot of ideas rolling around for how to make this roleplay fun and challenging at the same time. Right now I am messing about with a single portion and I can't decide, so I'm asking you guys. This problem is concerning the amount of people I should allow play. Below is the roleplay description.
- Spoiler:
Life has been rather simple... You wake up to a clean white room, a meal bar on your sink as you carefully eat it before heading into the back room as you always have. There is another blank white room with a single chair, where a voice from above tells you to sit. The voice asks you some simple questions about yourself, including weight and height. After that you would walk out of there back into your room, where you would take the second door. In there was the Rec room where you and 9 others can talk, play cards, and exercise on the various machines in the room. Once this finished, you would all return to your rooms and sleep to do it all over again. This is your life, the only life you knew. There is no past, is no future, but only a present. All you have to yourself is your body, and a number. But... All good things must come to an end...
Basically there are 10 people, and I'm deciding how many should play as people in there. I have a few options.
Option A 3-4 people play and everyone else is an NPC. This is my original idea and it's the easiest to play, because if you don't escape, then the NPC's will do it for you. It's still difficult to play through though, and it's very possible to die if you aren't smart.
Option B 5-6 people will play with the rest as NPC's. This one allows for more possible players, but you all have a higher risk of dying through the experiments. It's easier for you all to work together for a way to escape, but if an NPC is still alive they'll do it for you... Again. You need to play smarter to not die.
Option C All 10 people are played by you guys. This one allows for a lot of people, but people WILL die. This one is the hardest to survive, because half of you will die because there's no NPC's to replace you. You need to find your own way out, and you need to try your hardest to survive. Not suggested, but I put it here as an idea. Hardest game type, not for the weak of heart.
Note: I may periodically kill of PC's randomly.

| Well there are other changes I'm making to the Rp. After all, the one on Gaia was a test run. | |

| You'll be doing the one that's 10 years later before you do this one, riiiight? Personally I say C. A sounds too simple and B sounds too mediocre. Go risky with C, and see how smart our roleplayers really are. Besides, you won't have people complaining they can't join because you don't have enough slots. | |

| No way am I doing C because I don't want to put time into this character just to have him die randomly without any other reason than the injection killed him.
I'm not voting | |

| C is hard, because here, I'll be really blunt with you.
In C you'd start with 10 people, all of you guys.
Once you get the injection for powers, 1-2 of you will die instantly.
After day 1 of having powers, 1-2 of you will die again.
So an average of 3 of you would die randomly and instantly.
That leaves 7.
Of those people, I expect 2 more to die if you stay there another 2 days.
That leaves 5.
Then remove the people who do stupid things to get themselves killed. (1-2)
That leaves 3-4 people in the end. Granted, you COULD escape before then, but that all depends on how you guys play.

| That's why I'm not joining if that is what happens...it isn't challenging, it's simply unfair to the players | |

| That's why I don't suggest option C, but I still left it open. Some people might find something like that rather enjoyable. Just the suspence and what not. Besides, you aren't losing much of a character if it does die *Shrug* | |

| This is the life in the pit where everyone died? And Colin walked into the magical lollipop door or something like that?
I think people should die if they aren't smart... On Travian the best RPs are the ones where people die if they do stupid stuff, like run into a room of guards or walk up to soldiers who are pointing guns and intimidate them. Those RPs are the only ones where people actually choose to run away from battles and disengage (as opposed to free form RPs and regular ones where people stick in a gunfight and somehow come out either spotless (if they godmod) or with a cut)
I know there could be problems to this, but I think this could be a good test if we pick C. However, if we pick C, I don't think we should do injection deaths and roll-deaths you can't control. It would just piss people off, but dying for breathing in the wrong place would be fun.
Anyway, voted C, the good outweighs the bad. For once people will actually care about their Chars and not just run into dangerous situations and magically come out alive, and for once people will choose to run away from fights they know they can't win.
Long story short: C will make people actually value their Char's safety and make realistic decisions while the only bad thing that comes is that people might bitch for a day. It's worth it. Granted, instant deaths you can't control don't bring benefits.

| Yeah, I'm thinking of taking out the rolling deaths for those. BUT I am still going to make random people more vulnerable then others, but outweigh it with more strength.
Liiike, instead of the initial instant death, just make them have super bad stuff, but are incredibly powerful later on. Stuff like that. As I said, those details are still ideas.

| Ok, as long as their is no random, "insta-death" then I'm cool with C. | |

| Well yeah, but before you said:

That sucks. | |

| I like the "die if you say or do the wrong thing" thing, it's just the die without prevention opportunity thing | |

Liiike, instead of the initial instant death, just make them have super bad stuff, but are incredibly powerful later on. Stuff like that. As I said, those details are still ideas. Well that could be influenced by their own decisions. It would put people in dilemmas. I,e, there's a firefight. Two of the 9 remaining alphas grabbed guns and are slugging it out. Their chars tell the others to run. Now the guards are heavily armed and other 7 alphas could try to ambush them (the risky, greedy option) and take the risk of death to grab their armor and put it on (what everyone would do if the threat of death was virtually nonexistant), or do what the gunmen told them to and GTFO. Now the gunmen have choices as well. They could cover their allies retreats or ditch them and quit the firefight and bolt, leaving the unarmed alphas to their doom but perhaps ensuring their safety for the time to come. I approve of making uneven but in the end balanced evolutions, but please don't push it too far xD

| Nonono, PLEASE KILL US!!!! That's going in the quote book for its cheesiness. Don't let people decide deaths. This is unique in a good way. A lot of people and a lot of deaths | |

| Not what I meant. What I meant by decide their deaths, were if they breathed incorrectly they die. It's the normal stuff, just no overbalanced peeps or insta deaths. | |
