The Limits of Devotion

"But we must con... light..."

Great, power off.

Zentaku's mind becomes a blur... there are a few stray images of Conani that pop up from time to time. Then those fade though as he slowly goes deeper. he sees his symbol the skull... and the Shinigami he sees several images of the Shinigami that seems to interrupt his focus... He hears the Shinigami calling him, and laughing saying that Zentaku will not escape him and that he will return and continues to taunt Zentaku with omens of his inevitable return... Zentaku falls out of the trance in a cold sweat gasping for air.

Zentaku, "*gasping/swallowing noise* He... he still is imprinted in my mind... He, wants to take me over... but I won't let him... Just like last time even if he returns I can shut him out again..."

"It's not getting out." Nosro said, not too sure.

Zentaku, "Because I killed my best friend when I tried to save him then offered myself as a vessel to it, when it offered to stop the pain?"

Zentaku, "Okay I know that it enhances my powers immensely, but you do realize that for the past several years I had to tear my own mind apart just to keep him from killing everyone right? Also he makes me practically an immortal fueled by the urge to kill everything else. I would rather not have to break my mind apart to stop him again."

Zentaku, "And do you think it is wise to do that here? I mean If I go berserk again I may kill you all." looking at Conani, "And I wouldn't be able to live with myself if that happened."

Conani's eyes were closed shut as she regularly and slowly breathed, otherwise completely unmoving. Her mind was devoid of any personal thought process, and it mirrored the thoughts of the others who let them rise to the surface of their conscious.

Conani had been trained well, and she had trained hard. She was not devoted for nothing. Her teachers would brag about her all the time, everybody would want to be her friend, and she was popular without even trying. She had an extremely stable energy capacity, and a flexible but strong conscious and sub-conscious.

As if to compensate for her talent, though, she was a physical cripple. Because of her terribly incestuous lineage, her immune system was close to nonexistent, and her bones were fragile and thin. She had several imperfections she tried her best to hide. And... she weighted close to nothing.

Zentaku, "*Sigh*... so I suppose you mean hold it back without destroying my mind like I did last time right?... and what about it's er... physical effects... I would prefer if no-one saw me as that monster..."

The scroll seems to be pulling itself towards Zentaku as if the Shinigami knows whats coming and is eager to return.

Nosro, without speaking took the scroll out from under his cloak and undid the seal, tossing it over.

Zentaku opens up the scroll and looks at it then back up at the others saying, "Just do me one favor... keep her away from me, and tell her I am sorry..." he then looks the the scroll again as some voice from it cackles, "So It is you again!? come on my puppet!" and Shinigami enters Zentaku.

as they are walking Zentaku's eyes glaze over and become black as death, his hair turns gray and withers, his face distorts as his skin seems to crack open but rather than bleeding or anything like that the openings seem to be dark. Zentaku begins to breath more heavily when he is released.

Zentaku, "thanks..auhg" His head/neck stiffens and turns very unaturally, "K-kill...them... all." he drools a bit (black again... and the ground starts to age very fast where it hits.) "N-no."

"I'll start no training can be as bad as my last training." He cracks a smile.
thoughts: Nothing is as bad as that.
