Slithering Names [CHARACTER SHEETS]

if you are interested to know about the character sheet and all that, here it is. I ‘borrowed’ a model from CPRoleplay and modified it to suit my interests.

But before we get to the sheet, I might offer a precision that the demon hunters have paranormal abilities, have their improvements at irregular and unreliable intervals, and also… they get one temporary and immediate effect from their use of abilities, an urge that they have that they just must fulfill (kinda like Darker Than Black), and a permanent one that is inevitable and does not show immediately.

The temporary can be anything from smoking cigarettes to spilling their blood—be creative.

The permanent can be anything in the following: sped aging, reverse-aging (dangerous because, after too much use, they can turn into single-celled organisms), weakening of bones, brain damage, heart damage, gradual dulling of five senses.

The permanents aren’t numerous to avoid anything that is irrational or not what I meant by ‘permanent effects’. I will trust your judgement, though, so feel free to improvise.

Secora, unlike the stereotypical Indian, has creamy white skin and a subtle British accent. She has naturally black hair that is brittle and straight, but dyes it red and has it styled in a long-haired hairstyle (kinda like this one). While she can be mistaken for a typically weak woman, her body is shaped like an hourglass and she has well-developed muscles. Her sharp, dark brown eyes can be mistaken for being black. In general she is a little weird-looking and could be mistaken to be older than she really is because of the drawbacks of using her abilities.

She always dresses with class and practicality in mind, two things that often do not go together.

In general the Equivoques look up to her looks, albeit artificial as they may be. While she has several hosts, the one of Johanna Slayman is the one she goes by in America. At the moment she is not under Johanna's form but of her own, a transformation she rarely undergoes.

In truth Secora is very malignant and exploitative, taking a moment of hesitation as a moment where she can land her mark and convince a person to join her side. She is also very contemplative and ambitious, beting satisfied with the very best acquired by the most logical means. She is a very organized person.

--- Background ---

Secora comes from a dysfunctional Indian family, born and raised in Northampton, UK. In her younger years, she knew about her abilities to exploit people and did so. By the age of fifteen she was basically the princess of the neighborhood, and she pampered herself with privileges girls her age only saw in movies.

When she reached eighteen she decided to leave the chaotically organized business of the Northampton underworld for an American university.

Her attitude became more and more daring and revolting. Secora became solitary at the university but surfed bars, gathering attention and admiration, like a serious occupation. When she went out of college she quit her habits, but the process of drawing so many people to her was in the sole goal of getting hosts and subordinates for her personal causes.

Amongst them was Johanna Slayman. While Slayman aimed for becoming a field reporter with Secora, she unconsciously came to trust her and tell her so many of her secrets that, not surprisingly, Secora came to domineer her personality. She had gained control of Johanna over her years in college.

While she, as Johanna, lived in her own apartment, concealing the supposed Equivoque's body in her very own closet, she also researched for powerful figures she could also easily control. Thus, when she finally got her job, she got acquainted with a certain Traywick, who she resulted in violently dominating.

The Traywick figure was quite a strange person, because he knew her secrets like she knew his through extensive research and torture. He followed her orders and helped her cause until one day he sold her out to the police and disappeared.

Secora rediscovered him and gave him some proper treatment several weeks afterwards. Consequently, the apparently villainous Johanna went into hiding, while Secora and Traywick moved to Paris to further investigate the mysterious demon case.

--- Equipment + Description of Ability ---

Secora is a very practical person. She never carries more than she should be carrying, although as a basic rule of thumb she carries a handbag with a copy of her documents and her cash in it, some cosmetics, a cellphone, a bottle of water, and everything else. To prevent anything that might be uncomfortable for Secora, she doesn't carry guns or any 'legal' weapons, just a can of mace if something really bad arises and her abilities fail for some reason.

As an Equivoque, Secora is inexplicably powerful. She can possess several people at the same time and still have control over her own body. That, of course, was made mostly through repeated practice, although it doesn't really help with the demon-hunting situation.

Which is why she has a second ability: reactive adaptation. She's seen your ability once or twice? She's even had a chance to experience countering it? Most likely, she'll be able to resist it quite effectively if it's ever thrown back at her. Therefore, the more people she meets, the less vulnerable she gets. It has its downsides, though. For one, it doesn't work on anything with a religious connotation, therefore the Christians from Paris find it much easier to realize when she's lying, when she's vulnerable, and are not affected by her 'adaptation' in a serious manner.

And so she hunts demons with the help of manipulation, adaptation, and exploitation. She needs some work to get the job done.

You are allowed to use Traywick as an "NPC" as long as you don't alter too much of his location and train of thought (ex: if he's talking to Secora, you can't suddenly make Traywick jump off a tower).

Traywick could pass for a man ten years younger than he really is. Tall, athletically built and angular, he looks just as much as some Olympian swimmer as a very young business tycoon. He has brown hair, blue eyes, and a square jaw.

His dress code automatically identifies him as a yuppie with his usual business outfit and the briefcase he's notorious for carrying around.

His hair is always neatly trimmed and he always has a clean-shaved chin. He appears capable to tackle anybody, meaning that he is strong and has no excess fat.

--- Personality ---

Traywick is a somber, pessimistic individual with little or no interest to the activities of his higher-ups. He is only concerned for his well-being, though that could easily mean that he is indecisive. He doesn't talk often, but seems sociable, and he is not the type to purposely exploit people.

Although when Secora comes into the picture, he grows more defensive and silent. He appears ready to submit to her will, no matter what her outlandish requests are.

--- Background ---

Traywick was born in Fairfield, California. Up to date, he hasn't moved considerably from place to place. He finished his high school education as a respectable student with high grades. He might have seemed perfect to everybody but a few individuals, including Secora, who discovered that he snorts cocaine.

Following his college education, he seemed to take a year to examine his life of addiction before finally becoming a part-timer at a weekly newspaper. It so happened that Johanna Slayman arrived a few years later, by that time him having become a full-time news editor.

A few months without incident passed, except the uncanny gazes that Johanna Slayman kept directing to him. When he finally decided to ask her what was wrong over coffee, she told him about parts of his life that he himself had told nobody. Later on, Secora in her true form arrived at his domicile, but he refused to submit to her.

Secora somehow managed to control him, but with drawbacks. Traywick had not let himself be possessed, although she had never failed to do so before. He also had researched in her background and hired a hacker to discover more information about her. To sum it up, they knew each other perfectly, and they had set up a truce that Traywick was not to talk about Secora, and he was not to disobey her, lest she kills him.

Traywick was a rich guy. In the months following Secora was the owner of his assets. While he was an influential figure, she was the real dominatrix. Until he sold her out and inevitably suffered the consequences. True to herself, Secora fixed up everything before the information was leaked and sent Traywick with her to Paris. It was a lame compensation for the shit he drilled himself into.

Aside from the black briefcase, content never revealed, he keeps his collection of pens and several documents tucked safely in a leather satchel.

He doesn't appear to be capable of any paranormal ability.

Aleksandar's face is widely unknown. Despite being the Priest of the largest Orthodox Church in the community, he has switched bodies many times, and wears iron masks to prevent people from noticing. It isn't effective. All bodies chosen for inhabitance tend to be muscular and physically large for good reason. Wears suits most of the time, and is usually seen having a fancy looking cane and a top hat to cover at least part of the mask. Due to the fact that during most government and other types of important meetings he is just sitting on a balcony and examining things, he has earned the nickname of the vulture as well. He spends most of his time in his Hagia Sophia-like temple, a complex almost as large as Notre Dame. (known as the Orthodox Notre Dame and officially called the 'Hagia Varvara')

By now, very unreasonable. He is quite intelligent. However, to judge how kindly and fairly he should treat people, he has devised an equation of life, among other things that make him extremely odd. His somewhat powerful abilities, developed over time have also created massive backlashes, causing him to become a reclusive guy who draws numbers all over any paper he has.

Turns out calculus is a way he can soothe his insanity, so his behavior will depend on how recently he's done a lot of equations, and how recently he's banished. If done excessively, Aleksandar may even revert to being a regular person until the next banishing, at which point his regular unreasonable self will return.

Aleksandar can be friendly depending on who you are. He is extremely homophobic and severely dislikes and distrusts devils, atheists, and agnostics. He is very organized, which has allowed for a rapid expansion of the Orthodox community, and even attracted Cossack demon hunters. However, his distrust and prejudice against the severe anti-Christian communities have separated the community and the devils. He is, however, very friendly to anyone of any religion, even Muslims, for he feels they have some moral standing and are on the right course.

Born in an unnotable Polish family, probably the son of a drunk former Hussar, Alexandar exploited his abilities to get rid of people he didn't like, such as the Soviet Soldier down the road or the policeman who didn't treat him kindly when he walked by, or perhaps those cops who collect their own taxes.

The end of his personal life as Alexandar Zlotsvin came when he found himself in someone else's body. His physical form was gone, he was just a brain, just a thought, just something that transferred between bodies. This had made him somewhat of a phantom character, feared for the fact that his enemies mysteriously vanished and revered for powerful speeches to the Orthodox community of Paris. (despite the fact that these speeches usually ended in him abruptly leaving the podium and locking the doors of his soundproof quarters.

--- Equipment + Description of Ability ---

Equipment... usually isn't much and varies. He currently finds himself too bipolar to use weapons effectively, or get into a large gunfight. Plus, he's a peaceful priest who never killed anyone in his life. He just sends them to places he learns about in school, like Siberia or Somalia. Aside from this, he doesn't know how to use a gun. Maybe he could pull the trigger, but reloading is a different story completely. He usually has a cane, which inside, conceals a bullet. If he has used it before is questionable.
Abilities:

Body Switch:

A very trivial ability. It allows him to switch bodies with heavily restrained people.

Banishing: Teleportation of other people to places in the world. He rarely does this for clear reasons, such as the fact that people would hunt him down for it. This causes massive repercussions to his brain. Typically, he will have conversations with himself in his head, and be quite bipolar for a while, then grow increasingly insane. Very insane. A single banishing could turn him from a regular person to someone who should be put in restraints 24/7.

The man known as H.H. can easily be recognized by his violet eyes and black, messy hair. Taking no heed for gentlemanly attire, he just dresses and looks in an enviously comfortable way. He is paler and looks sicker than usual and appears to have a fairly muscular build and a chiseled jawline in contrast to everything.

However, contrary to his habit of dressing casually, the night he is seen for the first time he is dressed in a black longcoat.

--- Personality ---

Since he is paranoid about having his real name discovered to the demon-hunting community, it can be guessed that "H.H." has never told anybody his actual name. He washes his hands frequently, refuses to touch anything unless he's sure it is absolutely harmless, and makes strictly professional decisions with little or no personal thought put into them.

--- Background ---

For the most part, he refuses to discern information of his childhood, and so far nobody can trace a past to him. However, his career was very fruitful and had a strong impact on the demon-hunting community.

H.H. was already known as Brian Johansson when he made his first kill. Using only traditional weaponry--silver crosses, holy water, chains, and all that, he is notorious for killing his demons in a ruthless and inhumane way, as if he had a personal grudge.

He knows everything about everyone, something that other devils from his community know and strive to not let control their lives. Magnificent bastard wasn't enough to describe him. He had never lost a fight in his life.

Advancing to a point where the Equivoque gained more interest into saving Paris rather than torturing demons, he single-handedly gathered a band of misfit freelancers and devils who would purge the dirty city of every single demon there was.

Unfortunately, he had to leave Paris after realizing that is was not entirely normal that Equivoques--the most powerful of devils--were killed one by one so easily. He left for the tropical American isles before he once again returned a year later to Paris to teach the newly infestations a lesson, this time with everybody from the community.

--- Equipment + Description of Ability ---

A true minimalist, H.H. has explicitly mentioned that he'd rather not have a body at all. He, however, has a personal troupe of bodyguards who carry all the big stuff--guns, staffs, briefcases and documents. He's notorious, however, for having a lot of money on him.

As for omniscience, well, he just knows everything. Eye contact is not necessary but it helps. In general, if a person is across the wall, he knows their age, ethnicity, gender and ability. The closer they are, the more he knows about them. While not a lethal ability directly, it helps with blackmail.

He is mostly quiet. He will force his way if he has too. He likes to stay mysterious, and won't answer most questions about his background.

Attacked by demons when he was 22, he was turned into a vampire like creature, but instead of blood, he can eat human food and/or demon blood. After being turned, he hoped that no one would have to suffer being like him, so he went into the demon hunter business.
Not much is known about his real 'age', but an estimation is around 100 years old.
No known family is alive.

He is a very Kind and upstanding young man. He tends to help people whenever he sees those in need... and he happily defends those who cannot defend themselves... He also will often go out and preach in slums where most people wouldn't go.

He enjoys techno, and speed music. He also is very laid back... but he can become very serious when the situation demands it.

He only discovered his abilities and the existence of demons a short time ago... he took it upon himself that he was given these powers as "A gift from God." to "Purify the world of evil." and as such has taken it upon himself to hunt down and kill the demons.

He carries a bible... though that is more for personal reasons (btw those are thick and could be used for say... blocking a knife ), and he also keeps his ipod with himself.

He also carries a concealed dagger.

he is very quick and maneuverable... he uses that to his advantage making him a very tough target to hit by any normal means... and even when he is hit... if he can get some time out of direct combat he can focus and recover from the damage done...

His Telekinesis is not very strong as of current... he has been improving with it though and it seems to be getting stronger... when he first used it he could only move 2.5 pounds... he can now move up to 5 pounds with it...
