Life in the Pits

Three decides to eat his second meal bar and began to exercise. Maybe he wasn't stingy enough. Maybe this was a test of stamina. No matter, he calculated that he felt 3% better due to longer rest.

Eight bit her lip and looked over to the man who was the Voice. "I don't believe I am of any particular interest."

9 puts his back to the wall and sits...patting his knees to pass time

Eight went to the spot where the man was sitting, and she herself sat down there, but slowly crumbled in a disappointed heap of Eight holding her head in her hands. "Stupid, stupid..."

Five gasped when a person appeared from thin air. Stepping back, she misjudged her strength and fell to the floor once more. Not trying to get up, she said. "W-who are you mister? How did you poof into here like that?"

Her eyes showed nothing but curiosity as she gasped and said with a smile. "Wow you're really the Voice? You do sound just like him so it must be true! Oh, maybe you could tell me why I feel funny..Well that's wrong..It's more like I don't feel anything at all. My clothes, this floor, even my arm and leg movements. I don't feel any of them. I can't even feel myself talking to you right now. It's strange."

She tilted her head a little bit and said. "An experiment?" She gave it a little thought before moving on. "Wait, if this is a side effect then what is the actual experiment on me supposed to be?"

She gasped when he said this. A little confused, she said. "What do you mean I can't die? You mean never? What about growing up? Will I do that Voice?"

9 sighs and gets up, he begins pacing back and forth, not knowing what to do

...what if the doors never open...what if I die here...what if this is just a test...any way I look at it, every possible outcome, answer, and question conflict...if this is not a test, I may die in here...but if I try to break out I may live...then again, this may end soon if it is a test, and they may kill me if I try to break out...

9 sighs again and lays on the floor, looking up at the ceiling

"W-wait. If I can never die, and I can never grow up..Does that mean I'll outlive everyone here Voice? Oh! Maybe you're the same! Are you Voice? Will we both live forever?" She looked up at him curiously as she slowly but surely stood up.

She gave a small sigh before she smiled and said. "Well, isn't that a good thing? It means we can play and talk forever! I'll get used to this numbness sooner or later and then it will be like I'm completely normal..Just, a kind of not dying and not aging normal."

She was finally on her feet and made her way over to the voice. Instead of laying on the bed, she sat on the side since she didn't want to disturb him. "Are you going to take a nap now? Am I allowed in the rec room Voice?"
