Fragility of the Mind

"Raine..."

The girl, still in her unconscious state still had her presence of mind, she looked around in her dream like state, being back in her deceased friend's old appartment.

Raine took a deep breath, not knowing what to do. She looked around and spotted her friend. He was seated on the old, rotting couch where they used to cuddle up on for warmth in the winter. Her breath caught slightly, staring at him again, alive, but Raine knew it was a dream. She walked over to him ever so slowly, calling his name softly, fearing her own voice in the dull silence.

"Jonathon?" it came out as a squeak and he looked up at her with his beautiful gray eyes. He looked way too wise for his time. Well, when he was alive. He got up and quietly met her in the middle, grabbing her hands.

"Hi, Raine," he spoke softly, she could feel his breath on her forehead, ruffling her bangs slightly. She shivered, taking in the sight of him, so close.

"You're dead, Jon," she said, dully, a slight tremor in her voice. Jonathon smiled, She saw a days worth of blonde stubble on his chin.

"Your friends are waiting for you," he paused, coaxing her head up so she could look him dead in the eyes, "You should go help them, you're a fighter." He drifted away from her, then turning back and kissing her forehead. Raine tensed, she felt tears stinging her eyes. When he was finally starting to fade Raine shouted out something at him.

"You left me, Jon! I started using again cause of you! You left me!" She wouldn't cry again in front of him but the wail in her voice could'nt be covered up.

Jon just smiled though, and as he faded more, barely visible now, he said to her, "I'm always with you, Raine, never forget that...!"

And he was gone.

Raine awoke, the sounds of the world finally penetrating her dream world. She sat up, eyes, throat and nose stinging from her previous sickness. She looked around and saw Alevon dead. She stiffled a squeak. She must've been out for a while.

Raine looked at TK, stuck in place where she sat. The wind was picking up and her hair whipped against her shoulders and face uncomfortably. Raine's eyes were stinging too, the wind was making everything worse.

Raine pulled herself together and took all the strength she had left, not much, and lifted herself off the ground. She stumbled a bit but she was able to hold herself up. She cupped her hands around her mouth and shouted at TK.

"Stop, TK! I know what you're going through!" She dared not to say any more, fearing the tears she had been holding back would spill over. She had thought of Jon enough.

Ryan looks down at the woman
"Are you alright, miss? Are you injured?"

Yiaraw watched them heal the wounded and after observing it a few times started to do it to, at least until he grew tired. Then he watched the girl on stage sitting down.

Raine stumbed across to TK, almost falling flat on her face multiple times. She felt a hitch in her breathing and she soon collapsed down beside the woman. She grabbed her hands and willed her to look at her. She had a hard look to her eyes but Raine softened them, memories flooding back.

"I know what you're going through, I really do, but you can't just go on and blow us all away to China or something." She laughed, if a little shaky, despite the situation. She then stopped, turning totally serious again.

"I'm never breathing a word about what went down with me but just know that it gets easier and you won't stay a babbling brooke forever!"

She looked up at the man talking to TK, she frowned, moving in front of TK ever so slightly.

"Ya got the balls to ask a woman on the ground, whos crying and has a bloody nose if she's alright? Damn, I should sack you on the spot as the protector of women!" Sarcasm was laced through her words, her hard mask quickly being put back on.

Yiaraw saw the girl collapse and he wanted to help her but he couldn't... Not with him being tired and not without getting hurt. She obviously loved that evil person, maybe she was evil too... All these thoughts raced through his head as he looked at her. He then focused his attention to the other people. One of them was the girl who was staring at him earlier, he wondered if she was evil too. He looked at the guy who seemed to be talking to her. He was the one who killed the bad guy, so he must be a good guy.

You sound like a kid. Yiaraw thinks to himself.

Raine caught TK as she fell, resting her head on her lap now. She looked up and around, looking for her other friends and she made eye contact with the boy she saw earlier. Her eyes narrowed and she kept looking at him.

"Hey, what's your name?"

Ryan takes his helmet off, nestling it under his arm, looking down at TK and Raine
...he had a mostly grown-in goutee, short light-brown hair, and blue eyes
He looks down at them both with sympathetic eyes
"I'm sorry for your loss, miss...I really am. I hope you may find it in your heart to forgive me. However, I did what needed to be done, and I hope you come to terms with that"

YIaraw was surprised to be spoken to and stuttered as he said, "Y-Yiaraw." He says.

Gabrielle cursed herself for having been useless once more. "No! Damn it..." She could've... helped. she could've used her shadows, not just that flimsy little duplicate. She sorely stared at Ariel. "What are you waiting for?" she asked her dully. She squeezed hard on Lance's hand and pulled him forward with her, walking towards Mike.

"What the hell just happened there?" she said to Mike once she was in an appropriate hearing range. She had to admit she was being a little too rough, but whatever. "Was that... Alevon? Dead? And El, too? What the hell, man?"

She shook her free hand in desperation. Lance looked over to Mike apologetically, as if this wasn't the first time he was seeing her in a rage.

"Jesus Christ... I wanted to have a good time and to listen to a good musician, and then suddenly a guy I thought was on our side flips out and attacks so many people! I don't know who to trust anymore!"

"Gab..."

"Shut up! Don't you dare tell me to calm down!" She breathed heavily in the air as she let go of his hand. "I'm off better than the rest of you, but man... I'm leaving." She shook her head from disbelief and turned her back to both her boyfriend and her best (male) friend.

Lance sighed, not intent on going after his domina. "I take it she acts the same around this crowd, too."

Raine let TK go knowing there was nothing else she could say. She stared at Kate, then Mike and then Gabrielle. She didn't know what to say. She turned her attention back to the boy named Yiaraw, "Stop staring, it's rude." This was possibly the most stupid thing she's said in her whole life though. Anyone who knew Raine would know that she was most likely the rudest person out there and she shouldn't be telling others not to be.

"And it's up your ass and around the corner!" Raine yelled, dryly, at the man in the car. She had to yell to make herself heard over the blaring racket coming from his car speakers.

Ariel stood there, stunned.

"...What?" What was she waiting for? She had no idea what Gabrielle was talking about. She had tried to help, but she guess it wasn't enough. Perhaps she needed time to herself; after all, what was supposed to be a fun outing was ruined. She nearly cried out in frustration, but managed to keep her cool. She strode quickly to the nearest tree and hid behind it, sliding down the truck till she was sitting at the base.

Ryan sighs and slips his helmet back on, typing in something on a wrist-pad he has and then surveying the area for any other potential threats

Poor girl...I wish I didn't have to do that, but I had to...I just hope she can move on

Not too much longer after that, an honor guard transport vehicle pulls up, and two honor guards wearing the same suit as Ryan jump out the back, walking over to Alevon.

...they pick his body up and begin walking back towards the transport
