Fragility of the Mind

"Probably." Emir said, putting his flask back to his jacket's inner pocket and getting out his revolver. "Though I got a weird feeling about her...I just can't put my finger to it..." He said, tapping the revolver's barrel on his chin.

Ariel looked at the open portal and smiled at her friend.

"Alright, let's go, though nothing crazy."

"Huh, oh yeah." It didn't come to Gabrielle's mind that whipping a teleport to a place on the other side of the country was unusual. She shifted her weight on her other leg and watched as Ariel and Raine disappeared in their little dimension. "Though I'm not sure you'd like insane girls." a pause. "Really insane girls. A little over her head is okay."

Gabrielle recalled a certain axe-crazy incident and drifted into her own thoughts. "On second thought... Beware the nice ones."

Raine looked over her shoulder, her mouth in a cute pout, "And I got many more, if that counts."

She grabbed Ariel by the arm and jumped through the portal, once they were through Raine got to work.

She threw a pair of thigh-high leather boots, a pair of skinny jeans, a very low white silk tank top and a tapered, red leather blazer. "Now strip, nervous, outdated wench. We have an outting we must attend and it requires thee to be dressed accordingly." Raine rummaged around through her jewelery box, trying to find something to match.

Emir shrugs. "I like any girl, all it matters is that if she tries to kill me.....Though I am getting a bit rusty so I don't know." He chuckled, aiming his revolver at a bowl.

Ariel frowned at the choice of attire. Such flashy, revealing clothing wasn't her style. She was used to her worn jeans, dark clothes, and occasional jacket. Not...thigh high leather boots and white, silk tank tops.

"I'm not wearing this Raine," Ariel stated. "It's not me."

"I wonder where's Ariel and Raine right now...probably going into a orgy." Emir said, lighting his cigarette in his mouth.

"Aw, come on, Chuckles! Loosen up that tightly wound ass for once!" She slapped the woman on the left cheek, going back through her box, finally pulling out a couple of big, beaded necklaces. She tossed those at Ariel too.

"You can borrow my clothes for tonight, I don't want you embarrassing me," then she added, "and if you dare get anything on the tank top I will open a portal to Limbo and I will throw you in." Satisfied she jumped back through the portal and left Ariel to dress.

She stumbled as she came back to the others, catching herself as her head spun from the constant use of the portals. Just catching what Emir said she spoke out.

"You wish, I could do for a good burn soon though."

Emir looking at TK and chuckling. "To this day, I don't even know why chicks wear so much clothing...Which would explain the men's cynical view of women of being gold diggers....Huh."

Ariel looked at the clothes in her hands with a blank look. She looked around and realized that she wasn't getting out of here until she changed.

'Great. Just great.'

She sighed and took of her clothes before putting on the new ones Raine let her borrow. She had to admit that the tank top felt nice against her skin, and the skinny jeans were dark so that wasn't too bad. The boots would need some getting used to though. Finally, she put on the blazer and necklaces. She gazed at herself in the full length mirror.

"I actually look...kind of hot," Ariel mused to herself. And she did. Not that she would go around gloating, but the new choice of wardrobe made her feel good. Then she turned around and flopped onto the bed, waiting for Raine to come pick her up.

"Try to think of how good you look, TK," Gabrielle said. "I mean--half of the time I wear spandex and, well, yeah... Not that comfy."

"Girls are weird." Emir said, frowning as the smoke begins to spread to the whole kitchen.

"Spandex is a wonderful thing." Raine smiled, yelling through the portal at Ariel.

"Come on out now dahling, we're all waiting for your debut!"

Ariel glanced down at herself once more before taking a deep breath and stepping through the portal. When she was back at the base she tried to stand tall and make herself look confident, though it somewhat failed. Even after all those years, this hardened figure still had a soft side.

"I'm uh, I'm ready," she announced softly.

"Finally." Emir said, spitting his cig out and stepping on it. "To me, a girl's looks is her face though I'm a guy with low standards." He chuckled, remembering his old neighborhood back in the times.

Gabrielle's eyes suddenly started sparkling with excitement. "You look... trendy. Wow." To think that she was speechless at such a wonderful opportunity. "I, uh... you get the picture, I think. No offense, really. What I meant to say is that these clothes hug your figure attractively!"

Raine looked at Emir, "low standards can be quite dangerous or just the opposite." She winked, then turning her attention to Ariel.

"See, you look great, now lets get to the concert. I feel the need to send someone else to the hospital." Raine grinned slyly.

"Hopefully me." Emir said, groaning form his impatience. "Cause it feels like I'm about to get a coma from the time you wasted on us.

Emir looked around, bored.

"Can you just stop scanning and enjoy the show?" He asked TK. "You're being paranoid for no reason."
