| Attack on Titan - Apparently this review is very spoiler heavy- viewer discretion is advised:
So, I just finished Attack on Titan w/ TS (it's TS' second go-round, my first), and have to say, if season 2 weren't coming out soon, I would be so immortally angry; that ending couldn't even really be called an ending, especially when we never even got close to Goal #fucking 1.
Simply put, humanity in the world of AoT is limited to the space encompassed by three great walls- Wall Rose, Wall Maria, and Wall Sina, and outside of that is Titan Country. What are titans? Massive fucking humanoids that enjoy eating people. Not for food mind you- they don't have to eat- they do it for fucking fun. Needless to say, this anime is bloody as fuck, and you had best not get attached to many of the side characters.
We follow our young protagonists Eren Jaeger and Mikasa Ackerman as they go from children whose village is attacked by Titans (which should not have happened, given they were Inside the wall) to young adults joining the military to fight off the Titans.
aaand...that's it. Several thousand deaths later, we haven't really gotten anywhere with it. Oh sure, we get interesting little tidbits, and meet a lot of fun characters, but the story doesn't Get anywhere at all. end of the season, the Titans are still poised to destroy humanity, and the Wall Rose still hasn't been retaken.
Great art, fun characters, good music, but if you are watching for the story, wait until they get season 2 out- then we'll talk
