Life in the Pits

2 sighed, and waited for his shot. His bleeding hand shaking.

"Thank you." Three said politely, drinking from the cup, carefully placing it back on the tray and headed towards the rec room. The drink was thick but bland. Odd. After arriving in the rec room, he got on the treadmill and began jogging.

"Mmmmmm, ok"
9 answers without much care...he consumes all of them and waits for a response

...what's up with this?

9 yawns and enters the rec room, he goes to the treadmill but sees that it is occupied, so he lifts weights

Eight began panicking in her own mind, but betrayed nothing. She simply nodded to nobody in particular and took the syringe. She did not like it, but she connected the needle to the syringe, put it in the designated place and pushed the designated button.

After the shot was administered, Eight got up from her rather uncomfortable position and left the room.

6 looked puzzled as he stared at the spray bottle warily. He wasn't sure as to what was going to happen, but he trusted the voice. So he simply sat in the chair and waited.

"You want it?" Three asked nine, getting off.

"Done anyway." He added, lifting weights.

The hell was that for? He thought. That drink was never there before in his whole 'life'...

"Um, thank you voice," 6 said. Then he walked into the Rec Room, rubbing his tingling nose. Mostly everyone was there, and he wondered if the rest of the group had gone through a similar experience.

"Hey guys," 6 called.

Eight sat down and looked down, as if regretting something. She didn't even bother reaching for the weights. That definitely wasn't a coincidence. Had she angered the Voice? Would that expand to her whole body and kill her? She shuddered and finally grabbed the cards.

9 stopped and turned to 6

"Yo 6." Three replied, bench pressing a large weight. The drink didn't seem to have any immediate effects. Funny. Maybe this was food testing?

"Yes?"
9 said, approaching 6

*10 watched as everyone entered the room, noticing that 2 wasn't there.
" They're gonna kill us off one by one.." He thought, horrified.
*Looking at the patch on his arm, he was tempted to rip it off, but he knew if he did, he would be killed.

6 walked over to 9.

"9!" he whisper-shouted. "Something strange happened to me! When I went to talk to the voice again, a spray bottle was by the chair. Then a man came and sprayed me with it! This has never happened before!" He tried to keep his voice level and not speak too fast, but he was nervous and excited at the same time.

'What does this mean?'

*10 just listened.

Three, alarmed, walked over to 6.

"Shhh, don't talk about it. I don't think that's a good idea. Especially this loud." He whispered.
"But I got a drink, not a spray bottle."

"I had some pills"

"Funny. Maybe the voice knows what we like by our answers every day." Three said, shrugging off the fact that, apparently, all 3 of them got different things.
