Fragility of the Mind

Raine chopped up some vegetables, mixed in some fresh herbs and cracked a few eggs. She took out a frying pan and heated up some butter in it, preparing to sauté the vegetables.

"Veggies, TK?" Raine inquired, seriously. She was quite serious when it came to her cooking. Plus with the recent aggrivation she dropped the silly nickname, whisking expertly.

"I know none for that one," she pointed her wisk at Ariel, egg dripping down to the floor. "Oopsies."

Having been hit in the back of the head with an egg, Alevon does not disappear...the egg is absorbed, and he turns around to look at Raine
"To put it simply, I know I hurt her, it was a mistake, and I want to make amends. That is all."

Alevon closes his eyes and inhales

"But you are correct...I will leave her alone...but I can't help but feel as if my point has not gotten across that my intent was to manipulate her in the beginning, before I knew her...getting to know her was my downfall."

Alevon sighs

Alevon sits at a table...he doesn't know what to do

Raine frowned.

"Well, just remember, Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, that's what a friend of mine always told me..." She trailed off, not knowing what else to say. She'd rather not bring up the past.

"Lots of people were hurt on this day, TK..." Ariel whispered. She clenched her fists and stared at the ground.

"I'm not afraid of her scorn. I'm afraid that I hurt her and I can't make her feel better."

Alevon is sitting at a table near the corner...his hands on the table

Without lifting his head, he replies
"Because I was the direct cause of this, and I am therefore the only one who can fix it..."

"You would fix the problem if you just left it alone and never mentioned it again," Ariel rasped. She was angry at a lot of things at the moment so she tried her best to contain herself. If things became too much she could always leave.

"Hey, am I gunna have to call all of you 'Chuckles' now?" Raine started scrambling eggs for TK and herself.

"Well, Ariel is still the original... so maybe, Chuckles v.2 and Chuckles v.3..."

Ariel glanced at TK and tried to relax. She gave her a tight smile. She still felt like shit on the inside, though she would try to relax a bit. She needed to turn into hot-head Alevon over there. That made her chuckle to herself.

"I'll always be, 'Chuckles,' Raine, and don't forget it!" Ariel called out, smirking.

Alevon holds his head, his blood pressure rising slightly...it annoyed him to great lengths how it is that Ariel told him to leave TK alone when he was merely answering a question she asked...and how TK mentioned her being a burden to him...she wasn't a burden to him, so he had no idea why she brought it up

...he taps his finger on the table, finding it difficult to maintain his calm composure

Raine finished up all the eggs and she toasted some bread she sliced. She set the plates, cutlery and glasses on the table where Ariel was seated. She grinned as she set Ariel's plate down in front of her.

"Scrambled eggs, cheese, no veggies and toast without butter. Is this to your liking, your highness?" Sarcasm dripping off her tone as the uncooked egg had dripped off the wisk, Raine went to the stove to whip up some home-fries. Only when she felt the vibrations that rattled her frying pan did she stop and look at the others.

"Either someone really fat came to crash the party or something's up."

Without saying a word, Alevon gets up and walks to where he heard the explosion come from

Ariel smiled appreciatively at her friend and thanked her.

"Yes, this is perfect." She was about to eat some toast when she felt the rumble. She couldn't suppress a laugh at Raine's comment, though she suddenly turned serious.

"As hilarious as that would be, I'm thinking something's up."

"Yeah... me too, haven't seen anyone that fat in my life yet." She grinned and ran after TK.

"Come along now, Chuckles! We must follow suit!" She looked giddy and comical but Raine was slightly nervous and worried. Something bad must've happened. The night had been going far too well.
