Fragility of the Mind

Gabrielle heard the explosion and immediately thought something was wrong. Her mother had always told her that she had inherited her journalistic sense, and the ability to tell if something was fishy. She was in another portion of the kitchen, so she had not seen TK and the rest come and go--but she was ready to go outside and ask the nearest person if anything had happened.

She threw the banana peel in the trash bin and then looked over to Emir. "Well, I'll be joining the party." She went through the room and into the bigger hall, seeing Mike and the rest play. She tilted her head as she saw Ken and very vaguely remembered him.

instead she walked over to TK, her eyebrows a little furrowed. "Did something happen?" she asked, but then corrected herself. "I mean, like... Uh..." She scratched behind her ears, unsure of how to formulate her question. "The explosion?"

"He sounded like he was playing dumb, but I'm sure the bastard knows exactly what we were talking about," Ariel said quite loudly. She had overhead what TK said and decided to put in her thoughts. She then went back to her beer.

(I'd just like to clarify to everyone that he actually DIDN'T see the images, lol...as he was not in the room XD)(that is all)

Gabrielle seemed down. "Oh." She looked to the side, as if hearing that embarassed her. "I... uh, think I understand." She told herself she'd have to see Alevon and talk to him herself, but at the same time she figured it was none of her business.

She then asked, "How about Josh? Where is he now?" Since she wasn't spotting him in the crowd, anywhere.

"How?" Gabrielle's voice suddenly became pressing.

"You could ask Raine what happened, she can give you all the details," Ariel explained. She still sat in her chair drinking, though she had cooled off considerably.

Gabrielle made a magnificent facepalm, and groaned to herself. "Damn it. Out of all the days he could've killed him, he killed him now! It's a fucking tenth-year anniversary, goddamn it!" Then she seemed to calm down momentarily and revise her vocabulary. "I'm not religious or anything, but 'goddamn it' seemed like the best interjection."

Emir was outside, leaning on the building's wall and drinking his own brew in a small tin can. After every drank, he smoked his cigarette, observing the night sky. His father introduced him into Alcohol, and he was glad since it'll make him forget his past more often than before.

He never reacted when Josh died....well He never reacted to death period. He found it as a casual thing, since his old neighborhood had crimes of mugging, shootings and rapes all around. Emir begins to unravel a chain necklace underneath his shirt. It was dog tags in Russian and with numbers though it was illegible, except it was poorly made and seems to be falling apart.

Emir chuckled, putting the dog tags back in his shirt and took a long drank.

"It's gonna be a long night......"

"I should go home, I got some work." Emir muttered, going inside the building to ask TK to ride with him.

Emir smiled, tossing his keys as he walked ot his car.

"So you ready for some awesome-tastic G-force?" He asked, his smile growing wider.

"Alright, hold on...." Emir opening his door and going to the driver seat, putting the keys in the ignition. The back seats was full of bottles of booze and boxes of papers. He turned to keys in a fast motion, making the engine roar.

"Fack, shoulda done it slow. It won't warm up as fast." He muttered to himself. "Alright, get in, unless you wanted to go on the roof."

"I won't go slow-" Emir said, stopping as he laughed. "Sorry, sick joke sick joke....Anyways, get ready." After that, he stomped on the acceleration and the car sped away from the base.

Emir's face was calm, as the speedometer read 145 mph, as the scenery became blurry and the everything would seem like a blur.
