Fragility of the Mind

Ariel pushed herself away from the wall. She greeted the woman and thanked her for housing her and her friends for the time being, and then followed TK.

Emir quirked his brow at TK's dismissal. It's already strange enough that she spitted a mist of blood outside.

"Name's Emir Parkreiner Smith my peeps." He said, finishing his hot coco and walked where TK is going. "Excuse me."

(ok I'ma stop postin her whole name now, 'less needed to XD)

TK rubbed her throat again and flinched. She turned around and just looked at her best friend and her brother, knowing both of them had separate reasons for following her.

Raine watched the others, finally just going over to Ryan who was with Grace. She smiled at them both.

"She must be oodles and oodles of fun, eh?"

"Why you be separating with your friends Sis'?" Emir asked TK, his face showing deep signs of worry. "I'm very worried about you."

Ryan notices TK walk away
"Mmmmmm...."

...dang it...once more I am stuck wanting to help, but it would be situationally innapropriate to follow...

He notices Raine
"...indeed she is"

Ariel stayed quiet, waiting for Emir to finish his talk with TK. So he knew something was wrong too. No surprise; those two were practically siblings. She had to wait for TK to be alone however. She didn't want anyone else to hear what she had to say.

"You sure?" Emir said, giving TK a random bear hug. "Alright but Remember, if you want to talk about anything, just to talk to us....you got nothing to hide." He whispered to her.

Ryan pats Grace on the head and turns his attention back on Raine

"No problem Sis'." Emir smiled tiredly, walking away with hands in his pocket.

"I hope you can crack her like a egg, I want to know what's happening to her." Emir whispered to Ariel as he passed.

Ariel looked at Emir with tired eyes and nodded, feeling the same way. When he was safely out of earshot, Ariel turned to TK and tried to smile.

"Hey," she said, trying not to sound exhausted. "What's on your mind, TK?"

(Lol Earshot? He has super hearing.)

Emir took his room keys and walked to the room he was supposedly be in.

(Woops, I forgot XD)

Ariel looked at her best friend with wide eyes as she saw the trickle of blood. She went over and gently but firmly gripped TK's arms.

"What's insane TK?" she asked, "What's wrong?"

Ariel gulped as she listened to TK's explanation. She had a lot on her mind, that was for sure. She looked around and saw a bench off to the side. She led her friend over to it and sat her down, taking a seat beside her. She thought for a moment about what to say before speaking.

"The thing about your mother... It's a problem," she started. "She has incredible power yes, but she knows nothing about the past. If it's only temporary amnesia then something bad will happen, but let's hope that that is not the case." She took a breath.

"And your sister? She's really back...? But...we all watched her die. Kate said she couldn't revive her. How is that possible?"

( already confirmed this with Tim, he wanted what just happened to stay between us concerning this piece)

TK stood to her feet and yelled as she pointed in front of her, "I tried to save you Alice! DAMNIT I TRIED!" TK trembled and tears streaked her face. She coughed up blood and spat it on the floor unintentionally.

Ariel cried out in surprise, shocked at TK's actions. She jumped to her feet and grabbed her, trying to calm her down.

"TK!" she half shouted, "TK! Get a hold of yourself, no one's there!" She noticed more blood and the coughing and something clicked.

'She seems...sick.'

"TK, listen to me, we have to get you some help," Ariel tried to say in a calm manner. "I think something is wrong with you."

Ariel twitched as she felt the hand on her cheek. TK was seeing her dead sister, Alice, and speaking to Ariel as if she was her. She was hallucinating?

"T-TK," she stuttered, "We have to get some help. I am not Alice. She isn't here. It's only you and me." She tried to reason with her, though realizing what state she was in that wouldn't work. Instead, she firmly grabbed her arm and started dragging her back to the main room everyone else was in. Her best friend was sick, she knew this for a fact, and she had to get her some help.

Raine took a key and wandered off to a random room. She unlocked a door and waltzed in, quickly running to the bathroom and stipping off her clothing. She ran the water very hot and jumped in, wincing slightly at the needle like prickles the hot water on her cold skin produced. She let the steam surround and close in on her, opening her pores and overall relaxing the young woman. She sighed, having been in the shower for quite a while now, and turned the water off. She stepped onto the tile floor of the bathroom and stared at herself in the mirror. Her expression was blank and Raine hated the feeling of her long wet hair sticking to her skin. She started to frown, she herself not even aware it was happening, and she felt tears sting her eyes.

As silent tears cascaded down Raine's pale cheek the young woman just stood there in the silence. She felt so out of sorts here and the fact that she wasn't able to get high as many times as she needed to left her body and mind feeling so frail. She felt the piercing pains as if they were continuous blows upon her body and it was almost unbearable. The last time this had happened, she had had Jonathon to help her cope.

More tears fell, as she remembered his gentle touch through her bed sheets. She remembered days of lying down on her bed, tight in a ball and quivering from the pain. Jon had just had his hand on her back, rubbing soothing circles the whole time. His voice was light and was carried across the silence easily, "It's okay, Raine, I'm here now so it's going to be fine."

The condensation had fogged up the mirror so much that Raine was no long able to see her reflection. She wimpered slightly, it was cut off almost as soon as it had started, and Raine sank to the floor. She curled up into a ball like she once had all those days ago and sat on the bathroom floor, naked and alone.
