Fragility of the Mind

"...I only want you to be happy..."
He says, gently leaning his chin on her head, looking into the distance, holding her warmly back

"I said 'The Stupidity got me a girl, and she was Ffffffine to the point that I forgot all about the snow in my pants.'" Emir said, smiling as he reminiscence about that day. "Alright, I've done your dare now it's my turn......." He pause for effect. "Truth....or Dare?"

"...your happiness makes me happy, TK"
He says, not moving

"Snow does lead to some crazy things." Raine smiled and then considered the question for a moment.

"Hm, just to ruin your fun, I pick truth, ha."

"No you aren't"
He says flatly, staring into the space above her, as he was before

"Bah, My fun is impossible to ruin, is life that you can ruin." Emir said, then stroked his beard as he thought for a moment laying on his head on his pillow and his body on his bed.

"If I were your age, would you actually like me to be your boyfriend?" He asked, still stroking his beard.

Raine laughed, sort of caught off guard by the question but at the same time not.

"Probably. I just like to go with guys who're fun to be with." Her smile faltered slighty as she thought about the last guy she had wanted to date. Losing him was probably the most traumatic thing that's happened to Raine.

"Hmmm...Simple Standards. You seem to skip a lot of guys in your time." Emir said, chuckling as he got a cigarette and his lighter.

"Hey, with the right sway of the hips and a couple of words spoken en français, I'm able to make even the strongest willed man sink to his knees, begging for more." She laughed, reminded of times when she would walk the streets in daring clothing, moving her body in such a way that she would get dirty glares from the women and lusty stares from the men.

"And it's not having simple standards," she started, growing slightly more serious, "it's called being open minded!"

"or being Indecisive." Emir scoffed. "And nothing can break my will....I'm trained this way..." He said, growing quieter as he said it.

Raine looked at Emir, her smile fading slowly as the seconds ticked by. She then rolled on to her side and layed her cheek upon her hand.

"What were you trained for...?" She asked.

Emir took a breath, and began his story, feeling pity for Raine to ask him this, He had to tell someone about his past and his future....He need to release the demons inside himself that has been hidden for all these years.....

"Well, My strong will was created when I was trained for killing political diplomats and leaders when I was 13, before I escaped the school that trained them in secrecy, the government just asks parents of the child and bribes the parents with money and takes the child to make him or her as a professional assassin.....I basically killed 1200 of those students by just escaping the government...." he replied, tears rolling from his eyes. "I came near the school when I was escaping the test facility that used me as a experiment for espionages, Killed 4 people just escaping...little did I know.." For some reason, he had a cold tone as his tears kept rolling.

"I've heard screams of children dying from the school, I didn't know....I didn't know what I have done to them..I never knew what my decisions did to other people, how they affected them in any way....Just like my parents that sold me for ten thousand bucks, though I knew that they needed money and thought it was a free education to a private school.."

He began to ramble now, his voice increasing in volume. "..I don't blame them, Though I become this...this personality I've never wanted to be....I feel alone even with TK and my new family...All I want was my little sister for all these years, she was innocent and she never hurt anyone....and I've shot her with my own bare hands, trying to save her from my mother....my insane mother who was trying to molest both of us...I didn't know why....and m-m-my father....I buried my own father just last year in Russia because of that damned war! I've lost my feelings, my trust to people, everything from that war, from the government. Even if this ghastly life never came to be, I'll be taken to the pits and still become a guinea pig of experiments, leaving my fate to be predetermined by the so-called God...I've lost my inner child, the innocence RAPED by the governments and my mother, the greed of power of the Government that made them do this to me..I've lost more than they wanted me to....I've lost my soul."

He became silent, crying silently as he covered his face, ashamed of his tears.

Alevon looks down slightly as dozens of memories begin playing in his head like a series of old movies...
...TK kissing him after they fought in the hallway of the pit base, her giving him the blood that made him heal...
...when they were flying together with Kate, looking down at the ground as it rushed by...
...him carrying her when she couldn't walk...

Alevon swallows, more memories passing

...him making the ring for her and seeing her reaction...
...and...
...the grief that was brought to her by the death of her mother and sister...

Alevon gently takes her hands in his, and leans forward, all these thoughts buzzing around inside his head as he closes his eyes, their lips finally meeting.
He stands there with her, motionless, as they share the kiss she deserved....

Raine's eyes grow very soft, she then went to Emir and gently wrapped her arms around him, holding him as he cried. She patted and rubbed soothing circles on his back and she just said, "It's alright, you're not alone, you have a soul, you're alright."

Emir didn't respond, as his tears overwhelmed any sign of speech.

Raine drew back, her hands still lingering on his shoulders. She didn't know if he wanted the physical contact because he didn't react to her embrace at all.

Emir sniffed and said.

"Sorry Raine, I...I never told anyone this, not even my family. I..I'm sorry for this mental breakdown, it's foolish for me to cry like this..." He became silent, trying to think what to say next.

Raine just smiled sadly, and her hands slid off his shoulders and dropped to her sides.

"A friend of mine once said that to get stronger you have to let yourself be weak first," she whispered, a lock of hair falling from behind her ear.

Emir sniffed a little more and seemed more calm than ever.

"Nice friend...Urgh....I need more booze as of right now...Argh...." He said, rubbing his forehead and wiping his tears away.

Raine grinned then, totally losing the bittersweet look she had about her in an instant.

"I say we raid the cabinets to see if we can find some booze." She started for the door, laying her hand on the knob. SHe looked back at Emir, seeing if he'd follow.

"...I'm sorry it can't last forever..."
He says, looking to the side, partially looking for enemies as well
