Fragility of the Mind

Raine was sitting in a random room, numbly, her arms limp at her sides and her knees were bent slightly. Her knees looked knobby and small to her, the sight of them made Raine frown slightly. She did have meat on her bones but recently, going through withdrawl and not eating properly, she lacked the nutrition to keep up her previous weight. She was about to put her hands on top of the bones and feel the protruding edges when the buzz of her cellphone snapped her out of her thoughts. She looked at the screen and smiled wryly pressing the "talk" button.

"Shall I call you 'Chuckles the Magician' now? You seem to be disappearing and reappearing quite often." She grabbed at the stubby tufts of the rug she was sitting on and sat in a cross-legged position, waiting a reply.

Ariel smiled slightly as Raine picked up.

"Call me whatever you want, just nothing embarrassing," she replied. "I was wondering where you and everyone else are, it's just TK and I here alone." Ariel glanced up at the bunk across from hers, seeing TK lying on it. She sighed quietly, waiting for Raine to respond.

Raine started ripping out pieces of the rug now, a cynical smile parting her full lips.

"Emir is bleeding profusely, Gabrielle is helping him and I haven't seen anyone else." She stopped talking then, hearing the silence in the room she was in. She then calmly spoke, a sort of quiet madness intertwined in her tone.

"Is TK able to talk?"

"What? Bleeding? What happened to Emir?" Ariel asked urgently, wondering if her friend was ok. Then remembering Raine's question, she looked up at the bunk and saw TK lying there. She told Raine to wait a moment and called out to her.

"Hey...TK? Are you able to talk for a minute?"

Raine heard TK faintly on the other end saying she was able to talk, she didn't sound too good and Raine's brow quirked with slight concern. She pressed her lips extrememly close to the mouthpiece of the phone and yelled, "Hey, TK, if you can hear me grab the phone from Chuckles here." She was slightly impatient, the smile on her face faltering the slightest bit.

Raine made things short and sweet, cutting to the point with only eleven little words that had the slightest trace of a giggle at the tail end.

"I need to talk to Videor, can you hook me up?"

"Oh shit," Raine muttered, pressing the "end call" button on her cellphone and pocketting it immediately. She turned toward Videor, her mouth felt dry and her hands seemed to take on a life of their own and snapped together, intertwining and untwining the fingers. She sounded a little crazy as she said, "I know you created the illusion of... Jon, but, is he...?" She couldn't seem to finish her sentence, to ask if he was alive and the muscles in her throat working overtime as she swallowed like mad. She hoped Videor knew what she meant.

Raine made a choking sound and she grasped the shirt material at her chest, right above her heart. It pounded like mad and the adrenaline was kicking in. No drug use in a while also twisted at her muscles, pinching like mad at her nerves and she felt like her body was caving in on itself.

"Yes, he is alive. Not by much however..."

The words echoed inside her head and she quickly shot her head up, looking at Videor intently.

"What do you mean? What's wrong with him? I thought he died, I watched him die!" The last bit of her sentence turned to a soft wail, all logical explanations going out the window for her.

Raine got up slowly, really fearing his explanation as she sat down on the bunk next to him, enough room between them so that if she starting flailing out of misery he wouldn't get hit. (lol)

She waited for the words to start.

(I'm just completely lost, why are Emir, Gabby and Raine seperated from Ariel and TK? xD)

Gabrielle smiled bleakly and left Emir after making sure he was really going to be fine. All these flashbacks, old reunions... alpha business made her feel like she could've avoided tons of trouble if she just pretended she had forgotten all about them. She wasn't a natural alpha, she knew. To think about it, it was a lot less exciting to have recieved her stupid and at times completely useless powers through a flu shot than having actually grown up with them, or gotten them in a laboratory.

She knew she could never have kids--so she wondered why in the world she still had a uterus, and even why she still enjoyed sex. She knew she'd never be a mother, even if she wanted to, which was unfair.

Why couldn't she live a normal life?

Leaving the dorm rooms she directed herself to the bathroom. Seeing the bloodstained floor still gave her nausea, but she shrugged and allowed her recently-formed copy to scrub the floor, whereas she left again, looking for Raine.

(Apparently Kate brought Raine back to the others and she overheard the commotion with Gab and Emir in the bathroom, the whole forehead bleeding issue. TK and Ariel just made it back to their room so they're in there alone. Grace should be with Raine and the others considering TK and Ariel was not in the building. Videor is now present in the bathroom since Raine called him in there for answers.)

Her gaze shifted the floor and her eyes were wide in horror. Raine felt her nails digging inter her palm and she realized that she had clenched her hands into fists. She then swallowed a few times, to keep the bile in her throat down, and looked at Videor, determination and fierce passion in her eyes.

"Do you know where he is?" Her voice felt strong and warm as it escaped her throat and Raine felt like for once she was getting her strength back. She didn't even mind the pain from her regrowing arm and the withdrawl symptoms.


(oh, and Tasha, Raine ran off after getting medical tape for Gabrielle : P right now she's in a random room talking with Videor.)

Alevon tosses and turns as thousands of images rip through his mind, all of which being from memories and the dreams from when he was a kid...people dying in the streets, tragic accidents, horrible memories both past and present...and it finally stops, showing the top of a mesa once again, from his old dream.

Atop this mesa should have stood three entities, but instead stood one...the being turns around to face Alevon.

It is Alevon...his eyes closed...he wears all black clothing, a long black jacket, his hair swaying in the wind...his eyes snap open, revealing one red eye, and one blue one...both piercing as a lance of hellfire. The dreaming Alevon suddenly goes cold and he feels like he's falling...he clenches his teeth, and sweat pours down his face, eyes shut tight...the Alevon in the dream steps forward, almost as if in slow motion, the image of where he was lingering behind...he steps into Alevon and he is hit with a wave of energy...he feels good, for once in his life...powerful, free, and shining with brilliance...

The sleeping Alevon gasps and his eyes snap open, and there seems to be a faint glow about them...his left eye, a beautiful and deep blue...his right, a shining, piercing red.

Emir was asleep, his hand on his bandaged head, snoring.

Update: Currently, those in the main bedroom where everyone is supposed to be are...Ariel, TK, Emir, Gabrielle and Grace.

Raine is in another room with Videor. The bathroom is still bloodstained.
