| TK glanced back at Videor and smirked, "My love, why the long face?" She shook her head when she got a good look at him. "What is it that you see that I do not?"
For all TK knew, she was just carrying Katja. | |

| Leana beamed and practically jumped into her arms.
"How are ya, Sam?" she asked, squeezing tight before letting go. | |

| The men looked at each other in genuine surprise, eyebrows raised, at the mention of being afflicted with a virus. They were quiet. If they were panicking, it was all conveniently bottled up.
After a moment, they nodded.
"Shall we stay here or climb into the head now?" Gabrielle's helper, who seemed to be most fluent, asked in his albeit very heavily accented English. He might have easily spoken in French, but for some reason he had not. | |

| "I've been better... Just have a bit of a headache from all of these people... I'm glad it's just you now though." Samantha smiled as she hugged back, but then looked back at her chair,"Want to sit down for the remainder of the trip?"
Then the man spoke as she turned and replied,"Yes, you can head up now."
-----
Videor swallowed before thinking to TK,"She's just bleeding is all... Is part of her preparing herself." | |

| "Questions, comments, concerns?"
Alevon says, going back into the room where everyone else is
"I'll try to answer any questions I can to the best of my knowledge about the masterminds, if any of you wish to know more. After all, this is important. I don't want anyone in the dark on anything."
Alevon knew things had been tense between he and his allies before, but it was time for that to end, and he knew it. He didn't want any of them to die, even Videor.
As they rode on WADE, Alevon's thoughts quickly turn to the time he spent working for the Masterminds. He recalled that he had enjoyed his time with them. They had been kind and respectful to him, treating him like a valued member of the team, and Alevon liked that. Problem was though, they did it to earn his trust. They did it to open Alevon up, weaken him to their ulterior motives...soften him up.
Even though they were like that, there was one person who was not.
Alyssa.
While the adults had always treated Alevon kindly and as a teammate, Alyssa hated Alevon from the very start. She was always rude to him, stuck up, and an overall self-righteous girl. This only piqued Alevon's attention. He always treated her nicely, despite her lack of respect of him.
It also just so happened that Alevon happened to join the Masterminds at the time of Alyssa's birthday. He recalled that he had, despite all things telling him not to, spent the time and effort making a tiara for her on her birthday...
Alevon snapped back to reality. | |

| TK froze in her tracks, "Is she alright?" TK wondered if her moving the girl would be detrimental. She then glanced back at the French men, one who she overheard speak for she hadn't moved that far out of hearing reach.
They're staying here? I touched his hand...does that mean I have the virus again?
TK gulped and she did her best to keep calm as she looked ahead once more, biting her bottom lip roughly, not really paying attention to what she registered was Alevon speaking. Her thoughts were racing. | |

| "She'll be fine... She only cut her wrist in order to drain blood. She wouldn't do that if she couldn't heal." Videor thought back as he stood beside TK, smiling at her. | |

| The men nodded once more, and one by one they went to the ladder and climbed it up.
"Yes, I have a question," Gabrielle, meanwhile, piped up at the other side of the robot, towards Alevon.
"How much do you know about the Masterminds' Virus? Seems to be the big reason why we're so intent on killing them." Gabrielle smiled briefly. If the UnHonorables had known more in-depth about her uncle's operations and methods they would lump him together with the big bads. That wasn't true. She reached for the place where she had been injected three times. Once with an antagonist, once with a painkiller, and once with another antagonist. At least his had a cure.
And that was putting it mildly. | |

| "Well, they kept me in the dark on that one, but from what I've deduced on my own, the virus is pretty much undetectable, and is used to amplify the lead Mastermind's powers so that he may control people easier."

| "Do you know how it's spread?" she asked, batting her eyes. Mentally, she began to compare it to her own. The PDC (Control Pathogen, as her uncle had put it) was spread through the air and didn't appear to have been contagious; otherwise she'd have caught it off her helpers. She didn't know much about it, and neither did she know about the Master Virus. She just wanted to be safe. | |

| "Yeah, of course!" Leana sat down in the chair and looked up at Sam happily. Even though the situation was grave, and she was filled in on what was going to happen from Ariel, she wanted to at least enjoy the minutes she had before they would arrive at the Mastermind Base.
"What's going to happen when we get there?" she asked. | |

| TK nodded to Videor, relaxed and commenced walking. Once she met up with Alevon, she tuned into the conversation and said, "Any idea of what my mother is up to? Every mention of the Masterminds that comes up I cannot help but have her come to mind somehow." | |

| Samantha looked at Leana and sighed a little, saying,"Once we get in range, they will no doubt be firing upon us. Gabrielle's friends will help protect against that, but once we get close enough I'll be driving WADE's fist through the base's docking bay. It'll open, and that's where you guys will have access. Past that I'll just be here pumping energy into the base in the form of an EMP so that their technopath has little to no control. As for what's inside, I have no idea... That's where all of you come in." Samantha shook her head as she replied,"I just hope you guys can finally take them down... Just- Just make sure you come back safe alright?" | |

| "Well, originally it was spread via the air, but I know that it doesn't work like that anymore, so I'm not sure." He nods to himself "As for your mother, TK, I wouldn't know."
And just like that, his mind turns back to Alyssa.
It was a silly thing, the tiara. It was made of stone, crafted via molecular absorption. It wasn't the best thing in the world, but it was more personal than a store bought gift, and also given the fact that Alevon didn't really know Alyssa well in the first place.
He gave it, nestled in a little stone box, to the servant of the masterminds, an invisible man that roamed the halls at the time. The man took it into the other room to give to Alyssa, for Alevon was not invited to her party, as per Alyssa's instruction.
Later, he was given the box back, the tiara broken into many pieces. The invisible man informed Alevon that she had thrown it against the wall, and he offered his condolences.
It wasn't until later that Alevon was standing in the main room, when he was approached by Alyssa. She appologized for destroying it, and confessed that she really liked it in reality. She had treated Alevon as she had because she didn't want to show weakness to the others, in fear. In truth, the tiara had been the only gift that she had received on her birthday. She had asked Alevon if he could make another, to which he gladly said yes.
Over the course of several months, they had begun talking in private, learning more about each other, and growing a better and better friendship.
While Alevon didn't want children, he couldn't help but feel a fatherly attatchment to Alyssa.
...then came the day that Alevon had to leave. The next time he saw her, she was holding a blade to his throat as he broke into their base. Stricken with grief, she couldn't bring herself to kill him, and thus they talked. Alevon learned of her position within the Masterminds.
She was nothing but a puppet to them.
...and then it happened. She was possessed, and he was ordered to leave, else her life would be taken before his eyes.

Alevon sighs as he is brought back to reality once more. | |

| "Huh..." Leana mused to herself. "So it's going to be dangerous, there's a good chance we'll die, and we're in space. Sounds pretty good." She paused, then looked towards Sam.
"Don't worry, we'll be back," she chirped, smiling. | |

| "Yeah... Thank you Leana. As unlikely as it seems, I feel as though what you say is true. You all will be back, and I will be here waiting for you." Sam replied with a large smile as she looked back at the screen,"Wont be long now..." | |

| Leana nodded and sat in the chair humming quietly to herself. Then she snickered to herself.
"What would happen if we didn't come back?" she asked innocently. | |

| TK thought back of when they had to fight her mother, she didn't bother to respond to Alevon, for his lack of knowledge of her mother was in actuality no surprise to her. She thought back on how Kate possessed this guy Billy to talk to her and Alevon, saying how they were both leaders and would lead the group to victory. Right now she felt it was all Alevon, she was just the item of a prize waiting to be demolished.
The only thing TK feared right now was witnessing the loss of her friends and more-so, her baby. If only someone else could hold onto her baby while she fought.
Come to think of it, Katja doesn't know that I'm pregnant, and I haven't even eaten anything yet...
Time was running out, and for the first time TK had doubts; they were showing even though she kept silent.

| "I'm alright." Katja had managed to mumble, while being carried. The bleeding was slowing as the healing processes was already working, and while she couldn't say she was starving again, she definitely felt the strain. There was a ping echoing in her head, and the more blood she lost the more violently it affected her... eventually bringing herself out of her daze.
"You can set me down, now." She said, now more lucid and already pushing back to her feet. After a slight wobble she was on her feet again, and more or less back to the same depressive state Kenneth had found her in. Quiet, sullen, and a little brash and moody. It would be hard to assume she'd be of any use in that condition but she was a walking mass of complexes and this was only the calm before the storm.
All she needed was a target she could finally let go on, and her uses would become apparent. Right now, she was arguing with herself, as her own logic tried to convince her that there was perfectly acceptable blood-sources all around her, and she needn't wait for the enemy. Impulse was a growing inferno, and Katja was burning alive. | |

| TK faintly heard Katja, and realized that she was no longer on TK's back. TK was still oblivious about any blood being on her back (can't tell since Videor still casts his illusion).
TK then turned to face the young woman, giving her a reassuring smile. A smile of which TK would hope to have reached herself, but she was still having uncertainty issues about what laid ahead. Her master seemed so weak, though she knew she'd be alright, she couldn't help but worry, nor did she dare to call to Jessica until everything was over, if she made it out alive.
In the back of TK's head, she felt as if Alevon would turn his back on all of them and hand over the prize that they wished for. All the lives that had been lost because of TK's very existence, was enough to drive her mad if she'd let it.

| Alevon turns to face TK, eyeing her for a moment, gauging her reaction to his response, watching her face as it tells a story of her thoughts.
"You wear the face of a troubled woman, TK. Something on your mind?" | |

| Videor dropped the illusion as soon as Katja was done, and pulled a handkerchief from his pocket as he went to TK and started to clean the blood off of her,"So... Aside from what Ken told us, anyone have any idea what we're going to do once we're there?" I mean, we have to assume people inside are innocent due to the mind control, but how can we tell who is who?"

Samantha was silent for a moment before saying,"Then I'd come in after you guys..." | |

*unpause*

| TK flinched when she felt Videor touch her back, for a moment it was like she didn't recognize him. She instantly relaxed and allowed him to clean her back.
TK then turned slightly in Alevon's direction, careful not to interrupt Vidoer, she replied, "Only the battle ahead and the safety of those dear to me." She wondered if her vagueness was enough to make him drop the subject, and knowing Alevon, he would stop attempting to care despite TK's effort to remain courteous.
There is Alyssa again, but I suppose she's not a real threat. | |
