Okay, going to start doing a thing:
Music helps me imagine various scenes with characters, so I am going to start a topic where I create playlists for each of my official OC's (after finals, of course).
These OC's will likely be limited only to those I actually have fleshed out, so would include the likes of: Quinn Sullivan TwistedKnightly? Alma Malconthet Kothar/Minlauneth Meical
They might end up being really similar, but the point of this exercise IS to expand the music genres associated with them, so hopefully there won't be TOO much overlap. NOTE: i have kind of done this a little bit with some characters already (like Meical), so i won't repost videos when I can help it

that can stop being a thing anytime now

That moment when it is 4 in the morning, and you realize that one of the species you have been debating up and down whether it is your unknown or not was actually misplaced on the dichotomous key you had written up, so now you have to go back through and rewrite half your fucking paper.

okay, so my mother said something this morning that was so hypocritical it was worth repeating
She was complaining that I never give her the common courtesy of telling her where I am. Okay, fine. that is fair enough; I should probably do that.
But then, She said that she and my father never do that. That they always tell me where they are
...
Honestly, I just about died trying not to laugh, because I never know what they are doing.
But I didn't say anything, because there was nothing I could say that wouldn't downright start a goddamn war

Had a brain-thought after a conversation with my brother
While typical fairy tales mention giants grinding the bones of men for their bread, bone typically does not combine will with other substances. However, it IS very typical in a number of cultures to break open the bones of animals (after the meat has been cut off and eaten) and suck the marrow out.
Marrow is reportedly fairly delicious, and very high in fat and calories
So, the thought was what if when giants talk about grinding bones for their bread, they aren't actually making bread, as in dough, but are trying to get to the marrow within the bones as their daily bread, or their basic dietary staple?
things that make you go, hmm

Been meaning to do this for some time now
One of the games I grew up playing was Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn. I was not very good at it, but it was very fun for me to play.
The thing that stuck with me the most, and that I have gone into greater detail to research, was the primary antagonist, a mage by the name of Jon Irenicus. There is something hypnotic in the way he seamlessly blends one body-rending spell into another. That aside, he is simply a solid character, very complex. What gets me the most are simply his speeches. He has a number of them throughout the game, but here are the two best and most memorable ones:
Life…is strength. This is not to be contested, it seems logical enough. You live, you affect your world. But is it what you need? You are…different… inside. *casts spell* This woman lives and has strength of a sort. She lost her parents to plague, her husband to war, but she persevered. Her farm has prospered, her name is respected, her children are fed and safe. She lived as she thought she should. And now she is dead. *blows up person* Her land will be divided, her children will move on, and she will be forgotten. She lived a ‘good’ life but she had no power. She was a slave to death. I wonder if you are destined to be forgotten. Will your life fade in the shadow of greater beings? You are born of murder, the very essence of that which takes life. You have power, if you wish it. PC: I have no interest in the horrors you offer! None of this is to be believed! Really? But the consequences are so very real. *portals in Imoen* Your actions affect so many others than yourself. You will come to realize how little choice you have. You will do what you must, become what you must, or others will pay for your cowardice. You *will* accept the gifts offered to you. *tortures Imoen*
Stand *PC gets up* You rest each night uneasy. Yes, you are weary. You struggle daily. It will not end, you know. Not until you accept what you are. You walk as a mortal, taking no advantage from your heritage, from your talents within. So many things of flesh are greater than you. Walk among them, these beasts that are less than you are. See their strength, see how easily you fall to their muscle and skill. *illusory battle ends in the PC’s death* Why do you stand for this? Why do you submit to the flesh when death is bred in your bones? Do you realize the power you might hold? When the world of flesh is beneath you, even creatures mysterious and magical will fall! *another illusory battle, this time with the PC mopping the floor with his enemies’ corpses* *illusion fades. Portals in Imoen* Follow, and receive the gift you are owed by the blood in your veins. Follow, if only to protect the weak that fell because of you *begins torturing Imoen again*

So
apparently ~750mL of Cruzan raspberry rum is enough to get me drunk within ~4-5 hours not enough to make me black out, however...

after spending a week alone in a house with my brother, I can conclude one thing:
If I ever have to do this again, I am going to slit his throat
That is all

Ok, so it is official now Neuro Sleep does not have the advertised effect on me
Had my yearly review last night- my boss talks about goals like I am going to be working at that hotel for the rest of my life *eye twitches*
and oh yeah My parents' reactions to finding out I drank an entire bottle of rum for my birthday: Dad: eh, that's not too much alcohol. it's not like you drank an entire bottle of Bacardi 151, so that wasn't too dangerous. you did that pretty safely. Mom: I cannot believe this! You know who does this kind of thing- Your aunt! Your aunt who regularly ends up in the hospital because of this kind of behavior! rant rant rant also, my brother is a goddamn tattle-tale, and apparently I cannot tell him a fucking thing about my personal life without it becoming known to my parents. ~nice, very nice~

That's actually normal. Due to the spread of the signal around the router, the worst spot tends to be right next to it

So, because my brother is an impatient and inconsiderate man-child, he just walked into the office and reset the internet. Fucked up everything i was doing, which is annoying, but whatever.
Not a minute later, however, my sister walks into the office freaking out because she had an online quiz due for summer school One that was timed One that she Might Not Finish and Not Get Graded
All because my brother Had to get his dumbass video to load Dick

So, tonight, I went for a bike ride and run, which was all well and good. Felt great, stretching my legs like that. On the ride back home however, I got halfway back when suddenly my back tire goes flat for no discernible reason. So, I ended up pushing my bike a good 3 miles or so back home. Once there, I try airing my tire back up, to no avail
So, yeah, that was a thing although, it may have been karma for not doing anything physical for the past couple of days. *shrugs*
